Title: What about Sundays?
Post by: greywar on May 15, 2013, 11:22:22 AM
So Saturdays are doomed apparently, but oddly enough we have a Sunday caravan auction scheduled.  Starts at 10 am.  On one hand it's a weekend thing, on the other hand if you're the church going type it would conflict (and while I'm not I think someone who believes that way shouldn't ditch church).  Anyone seen what occurs on Sunday auctions?

In my neck of the woods, (NC) I've never seen a Sunday auction, let alone a caravan. If there were, I wouldn't be inclined to attend anyway. I'd be at the flea market selling what I bought during the week. One thing I do miss out on is yard sales on the weekend because I'm at the flea market.. One guy was telling me today that he does better picking yard sales than at storage auctions.. and he buys A LOT.

But I digress.. Around here Sundays are most definitely reserved for church. At the flea market, we don't get traffic until 1-2 p.m. at best.

Sunday auctions are extremely rare. A caravan on Sunday is unheard of.

In Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio & Austin combined, there might be 4-5 a year and they almost always occur because someone put the wrong date in the legal notice. It's good for the storage facility because they usually have a great turnout since there are no other auctions occurring and because most people are off.

Don't think I have ever seen a Sunday auction but if so I would say it was a typo made by the facility or newspaper.

not a typo, I even emailed the storage center, and they confirmed it in a email.  So...looks like I have some sunday auctions to attend.

very rarely do we have sunday acutions around here but when we do i try to go. mainly because weekends are about all the availability we have these days. crowds are genrally big at the few we have in my area. alot of people think its a great way to spend a sunday afternoon with teh fam which boy do i love, having to walk around 10 kids to see a unit.
