If it's an auctioneer that I know I just look him in the eye and nod my head when bidding. This is what I do at estate auctions, and the one storage auction I've attended so far. I can tell you the regulars keep a low profile for the most part. The guy that won 6 lockers saturday mostly just raised his bid number to the center of his chest. Was no yelling out or such stuff.

Also, it seems like towards the end of the auction for a unit its normally down to 2 or maybe 3 people and then the auctioneer knows who he's dealing with out of the crowd and he's basically just looking back and forth between you and another guy and then a simple headnod will do

Thats an easy way to bid 200 bucks where I am. I see plenty of newbs showing 2 fingers and jumping the bid on accident.

Regardless of how old he is...that's what I do to get the auctioneers attention. The other bidders end up lauging so hard that they forget to bid....works every time! ::)
