A Snowy Hello from West Michigan.....

Hello everyone,

I am new to the storage auction scene and gearing up for my first auctions next week. Came across your forum and have found it very helpful and informative. I know with the new auction shows (which truthfully is what got me interested.) there is talk of a lot of crazy bidders that are looking for the quick win or treasure. That is not me..... i already plan to have to work to even double my money. I know that every locker is not a treasure chest.... but i also realize that one mans trash is another mans treasure. I feel that most units will contain sell able items nut not Picasso's.

look forward to sharing as I start my adventure.

Just be aware of the fact that even if you win a few lockers, that it can take time to sell the goods. It is not like on tv that you get it sold 5 min later.

I some cases you might end up sittingon a product for weeks, maybe even months.
So have a cash reserve that you can live on and play with for future upcoming auctions.

Online sales are slow these days and alot of scammers, "craigslist" here you have almost 80% scammers and spammers.

I imagine you are attending Blair Auctions up there in Muskegon later this week. The Blair team seemed pretty good from what I saw today. Hopefully the crowd isnt as thick as we had it down here today.

Watch out for already picked through units though. Seems like most of them today were rummaged through previously. And a lot of obnoxious attendees that just cant keep there mouths shut.

When you see something, dont holler out loud that you see it, keep it to yourself!

Welcome Noobie!!

Thanks all.....

well today was a bust. 100 bidders for 4 units. The first one went for $45 and was two garbage bags, a open box of paperback books, and half a entertainment center. The last three were not much better going for $100, $145, and $190 all over valued. One unit might break even but no money to be made out today.

We still had a good time and hoping that the auctions calm down some soon. Going to try calling around to all the storage centers in town to try and find less publicized auctions.
