Title: Online out of state car auctions
Post by: LaWaughn on September 27, 2011, 11:07:30 PM
Has anyone bought a car out of state and sold it without going to pick it up?

I'm looking for some tips.

Depending on state laws you would have to first get the title put in your name if you purchased it.  Then you could sale the "title" and transfer it to the person that purchased the car.  All, without actually moving the vehicle.  However, I think you would also have to pay the various taxes and such.

As craiglstauction stated above, That is how it works in Washington. They want to get every nickel they can get. Also, they will not accept an understated bill of sale. The state uses "fair market value" to determine sales tax, unless you can prove it is of less value, ie: wrecked or whatever.

Good Luck...
