Title: First auction today
Post by: mthewho2 on February 21, 2012, 09:34:30 PM
I went to my first auction today.  They had 16 units.  I bought 1 for $20.  After everything is done I expect to triple ;D my money.   $10 box of housewares, $10 box of clothes, and the Big item is on on ebay: a Black leather Cougar coat.  It's on eBay right now, so if it goes for $50 I'll triple my money.  The more it goes up, the more i will make off of this unit.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting your feet wet by starting small and working your way up.

I went to another auction on March 20, 2012. I got 2 units for $150.00, and what was inside was quite a selection!  We found household items, furniture, a marble-top side table, an upright piano that needed a little TLC, a bunch of TVs (two large flatscreen that were saleable, three old ones that got e-cycled), upwards of a dozen leather coats, and even an old wool trench coat that turned out to be a Cold War era Swiss Army trench coat!  It took FOUR trailer loads to get everything home, and one load of falling-apart particle board furniture went straight to the landfill-we're not even messing with that junk!  So far we've made $130 off some of the furniture from the units, and we look to make about $500 just off the furniture and household items-this is even before the leather coats and the Swiss military coat get sold!

Sounds great.

2 lockers for $150 is really great. Easy to make a profit when you don't have to spend too much.

Should post your auction buys on the Auction Scene thread will give a lot of encouragement, no one finding those kind of prices on lockers.  ;D

Good luck with the coats.

Great, are you sure? Wouldn't them being great deals be determined by the resale value of the contents?
