No longer a lkr Virgin

Well, I went to my second SS auction on Tuesday and bought my first lkr. It was a 10 x 30. I went to just get the lay of the land, prices, number of people, and what was there to see. Looked like about 45 to 50 people with 6 lockers available.

The first one was some rattan furniture, 2 mattress/box springs, boxes, end table and couple of bags. Sold for $1550.00

The second one was the one I bought. You could see about all there was to see from the door. A 1977 Kawasaki 650 motorcycle with the head lite missing gauges broken up. I found a box of parts as I started moving the stuff out. I looked like everything I need to put it back together was there.

The main attraction is a 64 El Camino in primer. It is stripped of everything and I mean everything: moldings, dash, wiring, gauges, windshield, back glass, motor, seats, core support, doors, hood, fenders, and inter-fender wells. After the buy, I found all of the glass in the bed. A ton of the chrome trim and emblems. It has rally wheels with 2 holding air and 2 flat. In summary, I think everything is there to put it back together with the exception of fenders, doors, hood, and tail gate. The motor was on a wooden motor stand, 327 I think. The transmission and bumpers were under the car. Six more wheels and 4 additional tires.

There was a metal worktable with the seats setting on top with a bunch of boxes under it. The boxes had auto paint and misc reducers/thinners.

There was a box with a couple of paint guns out the top. After the buy, there were a total of 8 and 3 of those are new in the box. Only one cheep o gun.

A little air compressor connected to a hose reel with hose and another new 1/4" air hose still wrapped up.

An older floor jack and a cherry picker. I sold the floor jack for $30.00 before I left for the day.

I paid $500.00 for the locker. Everyone said it was the deal of the day and I would definitely agree!!! I should have my cost back after selling the paint guns.

The 3rd locker was newer motorcycle, it was at the far end of the lkr so I could not see what it was plus I knew I was done for the day. It also had a solid door hutch of some type and a wood chainsaw carving. Sold for $275.00.

The fourth lkr had a Chev pickup box and four doors and rear hatch from an Explorer. Some boxes, a couple pieces of furniture, some tires, and no sure what else. Sold for $550.

The fifth had all of the walls lined with plastic shelves and a row down the middle. The shelves were about 2/3rd full with boxes. There were some tires and a couple cases of Red Bull. Sold for $975. This was bought by the same guy that bought the rattan furniture. I talked to him last night and a lot of the boxes had business records in them. He was not real happy

I know there was six but I can't remember the other one, sorry.

I will keep you advised as I sell my lkr.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, thanks for sharing!  Where are you at in the NW?

I wanted to give everyone an update on this car locker that I bought.

I sold the car on Craig s List for $1900.00. I had to jump thru a few hoops to get the paperwork but as you can see was worth it. I sold it to a guy in BC, Canada. He is was going to use it mostly parts for 2 cars he is working on. He paid me $400.00 to deliver it and it cost me $120.00 in gas. I spent the day delivering it.

I sold some of the paint guns and the small compressor of $700.00. I still have a few left to sell.

I had a good bite on the motorcycle but it went south. I will re-list it on CL and lower the price.

I neglected to list the engine hoist so that is on the short list of to do.

I will start looking for another auction to go to.
