Title: California Storage Auctions Moves Into Online Storage Auctions
Post by: Travis on September 27, 2013, 10:53:21 PM
Looks like Forest O'brien with California Storage Auctions is making the leap into online storage auctions.

It will be interesting to see whether storage facilities will choose to use auctioneers with their online auctions. Most auctioneers charge the storage facility 10-25% of the sale price. Whether they choose to use an auctioneer or not, storage facilities can use VirtualStorageAuction.com (http://VirtualStorageAuction.com) at no charge. Auctioneers, private sellers and buyers are also welcome to use the site free of charge.

I talked to Forrest recently at an auction and though his boss Denos has the little icon at the top of the page for online auctions, it's not yet a reality. F says they are in the testing stage at this point.

You should tell him about VirtualStorageAuction.com the next time you see him. It doesn't make sense for them to invest a lot of money into developing an auction platform when they can use VirtualStorageAuction.com for free. I was going to contact Denos a few weeks ago but decided against it because I thought they had already developed a platform. Perhaps it's not too late.

I think it's too late. He said they were "testing" what they had developed. They just don't publish it on the internet with practice auctions "by admin".

Well, they have they have clients that have been with them for decades which makes the transition much easier.
