Title: Sealed Online Bids bites the dust!
Post by: Travis on March 05, 2013, 05:43:37 PM
Sealed Online Bids is officially no more after their last auction ended today. The 3 year old leader of the online storage auction niche is now a ghost town.

Merging with another company is not "biting the dust" IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. Let us know when the merger of the two goes out of business.

What I meant was their website died a slow death. Watching it go from hundreds of auctions to 6 to none. I was kind of sad to see it go. Kind of like the space shuttles being retired.

Sounds like a normal business cycle to me. Happens to businesses big and small. Remember Montgomery Wards?

Sears Craftsman products available at K-Mart, maybe Orchard Supply still.

JCPenny tries a three-tier pricing system instead of having sales.

HP computers hires Meg Whitman....no go.

Saturn automobiles?

The list goes on. Ideas are tried; some succeed, some die.

Mr. Burns in Homer's boss.

Yes, I know. "Montgomery" Burns. I was being facetious.

Here is the link to Travis' new endeavor.  Any auctions you see there on 3/21/2013 are simply "samples". There are no auctions listed as yet.

There is also a button there for going to a forum associated with that site. No takers yet. It will take a while for that site to get going given its content.

Well, I'm planning on revealing it to the public this Sunday...oh wait, I just noticed, MovieMan took the liberty of doing that for me. Anyway, now that the cat is out of the bag I can throw the cat at MovieMan.

We're still working a few bugs out. It will take time for storage facilities to make the switch since some have already published legal notices with Storage Battles listed in the notice. I have a few private sellers that should be posting auctions this week. I'll also be sending out press releases and notifying the self storage associations and the major self storage industry blogs. I image it will take a few months to get churning.

Now as to that flying cat; sounds like a new option for trap shooting !

LOL - or, if you tied a string to their collar, a replacement for Tasers. Why not, cops already work with dogs.
