Storage Auctions "In The News" / Re: storage wars texas
« on: December 07, 2011, 07:16:50 AM »
Same format of original storage wars....definitely no eye candy in the cast (Brandy - Storage Wars) I think all these storage shows are getting old already. Can't stand Storage Hunters (stupid fights and the auctioneer is a complete moron)...Auction Hunters (already commented before about their slow-motion manly scenes)...but don't mind Storage Wars for some reason.

Well, you can enjoy the forum anyway and for sure there are people who wish THEY were as unfortunate as you to be working full-time.

I would be one of those people!....Wish I was fortunate to have a job! The job market sucks in this area, but I think timing also has to do with it as this time of year is one of the hardest times to land a full time job...

eBay / Re: Sports Card selling on eBay - A lesson w/ a current example
« on: November 20, 2011, 09:40:27 AM »
I've been flipping prospects for years now not only in football, but also baseball...but I can definitely tell you that you come across many losing ones before the winner...that is a great story on your flip, congrats! Sports cards are a hard hobby to follow, but it could only take one card to make a decent profit...

The Treasure Chest / Re: My first unit(s)

$120 for that - oh man you lucked out.  I'd of loved a unit like that.  Of course I'm in to smalls and such.  Figure around here that 10x30 would go for 200-300 easy.  Good hunting to you.
wow...$200-300 there, man a unit like that would fetch well over $1k here!

sounds like you might walk away with a nice profit on that one! i walked away losing money on the first couple units i've bought....good luck with the rest!

I just got to watching the SH/AH on my DVR and all I can say is wow....I still can't believe I catch myself actually watching this garbage! How many more episodes of SH can I take of watching them want to start fights/get into fights and how much longer can I take hearing Ton/Allen saying, "Oh my god!! **commercial**"...or "Wait, what is this! **commercial**"...or the Matrix style slo-mo's of them doing something manly....I can't believe people believe any of those shows...I digress.....

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: What are the ages of the people here?
« on: November 16, 2011, 05:42:34 PM »
Reaching 35, blah!! My g/f is 25...mature for her age and I'm not craddle-robbing!!!..... :P....Have some cash in my pocket to definitely get deeper in this business. No luck with the past couple units, but I'm definitely buying some units. I think I may have profited $200 overall so far with 6 units, but I'm going to keep trying!!!

I feel like this is what it's coming to with storage auctions....i feel like more and more storage companies will at least "stage" their units for customers to actually see some value. I wish they actually CUT locks in this area as opposed to just taking their tabs off....

I doubt it will make a difference when it comes to paying their rent on time. If they didn't pay then, I doubt they'll pay now....also, these shows don't contribute to those lockers lost to deaths/arrests/divorce/etc...

Would love to go to a good one around this area with 30 units! Luckily by auction day there may be 4-5 units when they advertised 12-15....and with those new guys coming on top of little units to bid on, it's just formula for a high bidding boring day....(well, it is kind of fun to watch the new-er guys bid these units up!)...

Did this thread just get real....this should be a fun one to follow!

Wow...what a lucky unit, been going the past 3 months, more than 150+units collectively and have yet to come across a unit that good. Congrats!

If they are banking on gold they are just burning money.  Even the old timers in my area mentioned you don't find much jewelry or anything like that in the units in my area.
yea...they'll definitely figure it out sooner or later. I have seen at least 5-10 new people every week with the same amount of new people for the past couple months slowly drop off. It's like they just rotate a new group in every month. I'm sure once new episodes of the storage wars/auction hunters hit, they'll come out in numbers again...

I wish it would only take $250 for a unit....Lowest unit round here usually goes for $300-500 and that's just 5x5's....people have been banking on finding gold in these units lately...
