I've thought about the robbery thing too.   There was a short stint here where guys were holding up estate sales late afternoon.  Knew there was a couple grand between estate company and peoples wallets.

Starting thinking auctions might be unsafe.   20-40 actual bidders.   Each has $500-$1000, some much more.

But then I thought it would be rough.   Indoors and the hall is packed.  Outside and the crowd is spread out.   There isn't any control. 



I started looking closely at the crowd too.   Hadn't been a single auction that I haven't been able to see at LEAST one guy with concealed firearm.

I'm pretty honest and believe in the whole karma thing but I don't know about returning the unknown contents of an item I bought.

I do wonder how they didn't know it was there.   At some point the dresser had to be moved.  Wouldn't you hear it sliding around?

Are they all the same videos?

Were there manuals and stuff in unit?

Those training videos go for hundreds of dollars a pop.  You could package several that fit a certain industry and stick on ebay.   Or contact companies HR departments. 

I don't think selling them by the lot is going to work.  I think they only person that would be interested is an end user and these are made for group showings or to be viewed from server across multiple desktops. No one but the distributer needs more than one and they make them for pennies.

Think first I'd contact the company like you're interested in product and get an information pack sent to you.  Price quotes, what comes either video's, product support......the more info you have the better you'll know how to market it....and charge for it.

It won't affect anyone's taxes at all. By not having insurance you pay a penalty, not additional taxes.

Sure looks like a tax and the Supreme Court found that penalties the law places on people who don't buy health insurance count as a tax protected by the Constitution.....thus defining it as a tax.

If you are not covered by health insurance during 2014, you will owe a tax fee that is known as the individual shared responsibility payment payable at the time you file your 2014 Tax Return.

For 2014, the payment will be either the Flat Fee OR the Percentage of Household Income, whichever method is higher -

1. The Flat Fee for 2014 is $95.00 per adult and $47.50 per child, but not over the maximum of $285 per family.

2. The Percentage of Household Income for 2014 is 1% of your taxable income over the minimum filing amount for your filing status, but not over the average cost for the bronze level health plan available through the Marketplace in 2014. Here are the 2014 average costs for bronze level coverage:

- $204 per month for an individual (or $2448 annual)

- $1020 per month for a family with 5 or more members (or $12,240 annual)

I've seen a guy at many an auction that always rents units after.   He buys everything.  If there is a unit with a trash bag he'll buy it.   At one he bought seven units. 3-4 were huge, like warehouse, 20x30 maybe bigger.  Rent had to be a couple grand on top of the $6000-$7000 he paid for them.  And this was just one stop.

I've tried to talk to him but he is a total loner.  Doesn't even talk to auctioneer or staff unless he has to.

Always wondered what his business plan is, where he sells, because the rent alone would kill me.

I stick to units that I know I can pack away.  I know that if I rent it I'll procrastinate and pretty soon I'll have spent more on rent than its worth.   Maybe once I'm out of school but right now it's fast flip or walk away........I just don't have the time.

I got an email promotion: List in next ten days get $10, if it sells get another $10.

I listed an item I've had problems selling for way low. Immediately sold.
Break down is it sold for $22.  $2.20 went to ebay > $0.98 to paypal > $13.20 to ship > paid $6 for it = a loss of $0.38.  But got $20 gift certificate which would bring profit up to where others are selling for...eventually.

Well, it's not a gift certificate.  Its a code that has to be used in the next seven days.  Now I have to go search around ebay for something that costs $20.  Figure I'll get printer ink or razors or something I'll eventually need.

The promotion did say the "certificate" had an expiration date but I didn't figure on 7 days.  That's BS.
