Also make sure he words his listings differently.

I was banned .. 99.8% positive for shipping late during HURRICANE SANDY .. ya know when we didn't have power for 3 weeks.. they immediately banned me and removed 100+ listings.

I set up a new account, new pay pal ..etc. and was given the initial $5k authority.  I listed 3 things and it said that my wording in descriptions was similar to a banned account and that they would temporarily suspend me while they investigate.  3 hours later that account was locked and all my new listings were removed.

I loathe ebay and pay pal.

Yeah there's some people who clearly should be banned people who sell things and scam people or even people who sell and wait weeks to ship but there's plenty of stories of people with very well established accounts with like 2000 plus feedback who get accounts shutdown over a single 1 star dsr rating that could have been an accident or something. Many small sellers were saying ebay was trying to purge small sellers.

From what I've heard its almost impossible to get an account back once banned and once banned your banned from life so there's really no downside to trying to get around ebay and trick them into letting you sell. I'd first start by calling up and trying to appeal or get an account review but chances are you'll just be read a scriptedt message and it's over. I'd try that once if you have no luck you can try to trick them

He can setup a new account, just don't use the same PayPal information or email address as in the suspended account. If he gets called on the carpet for the same name and address, all he has to say is that must've been his father's account.

I've known a few people who have tried this strategy, not only do you need a new address and email address but typically you have to get a new Paypal account as well as they link your ebay and paypal account and if you use the same account it's only a matter of time before they find you out. Ebay also monitors IP addresses so you'lll also need to use the internet at another location of use a proxy or something to disguise your IP address.

You can probably get away with this for a few sales but as we all know you start ebay with a low seller limit. Your account is reviewed to up your limit and htey will pretty  much always catch duplicate accounts on the review. I've known a few people who sold maybe 5 items and then get popped off.

You pretty much have to buy an established ebay and Paypal account. You can buy accounts all types of places like WarriorForum and other online money making forums or you can go to the deep web sites and buy like a verified PP account and an ebay account with like 20 feedback. This can still get shut down at any time so you want to not keep money sitting in that account as it could be closed and the money lost but its something.

A buddy of mine was recently asking me this question. I guess a few years back he was kinda half assing his ebay sales didn't really care about eBay, had some stuff listed went on vacation shipped late. He never realized it but his ebay privileges were suspended due to too many low DSR or something along those lines. He now is into auctions and has a use for ebay and realized he couldn't sell which sucks for him. He called up no luck. I'd always heard once you screw up on ebay and get banned there's no getting it back and any future accounts you setup will be quickly discovered. Just curious if anyone has run into this and managed to get it reversed.

Throug doing some research online it seems its basically impossible. I was surprised to see some great sellers with like 1500 feedback got suspended for basically no negative feedback just DSR scores below what ebay wants. Just curious if anyone else has any experience with this.

eBay / Re: What's the point of feedback?
« on: June 13, 2014, 04:12:58 PM »
It used to be that you could give negative feedback to buyers. It was eliminated because sellers would give negative feedback to a buyer in retaliation for the buyer leaving negative feedback, even if the buyer did nothing wrong and the seller did. It was felt that buyers would start being more honest in rating bad sellers if they could no longer be extorted into giving only good feedback.

IMO, a better way is to require the seller to give feedback before the buyer can. This way the buyer could still received and give negative feedback without it being used as extortion. I also feel that if feedback is given but not received within 30 days that the feedback given should be able to be withdrawn. I'm am good about giving feedback as soon as someone buys, or when I buy, after I've received the item and all was good. More often than not the other party never leaves feedback, yet they have the benefit of the feedback I left for them.

good idea, in the past it was annoying buyers and sellers would get into this you leave feedback first no you leave feedback first and it was just dumb. thats actually a pretty good way of doing things. buyer feedback is prety pointless though, we as sellers dont really get to screen people before they buy so whats the point of it really. sure you can set things like people cant buy if they have 3 unpaid item strikes in a month but really no way to block someone just b/c they ave a neg

eBay / Re: Higher Priced Items Still Selling

A number of factors. I personally find amazon is better than ebay in terms of professionalism and fast shipping time. It's not that uncommon for ebay people to wait days or even a week to ship. I would personally pay more to a professional seller whom I know will ship within 24 hours as opposed to just some guy who may give me some line about how he only goes to the post office on Thursdays so if I order on a Monday I'm waiting waiting 4 days for him to ship.

Another thing as others have mentioned in search ranking. Whenever a product of mine goes to the top of search that is what sells like hotcakes. It's amazing I'll be thinking oh this thing is my best seller and then nothign but something else sells, its all about placement in search.

Lastly, many buyers don't look around. I ave a few ebay accounts and oftentimes price things differently as I get bigger discounts on some accounts than others so can afford to drop prices. I have literally had 3 products on the same page like $12, $15, and $20 and someone will buy it for $20.

eBay / Re: How to efficiently sell products under $10
« on: June 07, 2014, 12:11:35 PM »
I gave up on low priced items, even at cheap prices too hard to compete with teh chinese sellers and drop shippers, also I find the people who spend $10 are my biggest headaches, the peopel who drop a few hundred are no problem ever not sure why that is. Figure out what the most economical shipping is as with cheap items shipping costs alot to the customer in relation to the product and laso wastes your profits as well. Probably first class mail as long as its under 13 ounces will be cheapest

I've done the thing with leaving positive feedback but a comment but even hate doing that as most people aren't going to read the feedback and even if they do 10 more items sold and your knocked down to second page and nobody is gonna see it so your actually probably helping them more with a positive feedback than you are hurting them wit a negative comment.

As far as feedback on ebay I think its pretty useless. You have so few chharacters you cant really say anyting in detail and its not really meant to review a product more meant to review the seller. I like amazon how there's seperate reviews for reviewing the seller and the packaging vs reviwing how you actually liked the product. I think ebay should implement something like that as righht now someone may leave you bad feedback like this sprayer doesn't work well. That has more to do with the sprayer than did you ship on time, was it packaged well, etc, on ebay thats waht they should be reviewing not how well the actual product works.

Craigslist / Re: Business for sale on Craigslist
« on: May 30, 2014, 03:20:59 PM »
Yeah 150k is a lot of money but you can't say that's alot of money who would buy a business for that, if that were the case no busiensses would ever be sold as 150k is actually quite low for a business, although in this case it's not like you get property, inventory, etc your basically getting his domain name, customers and best practices and policies so that is sorta a lot to pay for something non tangible. Another thing to consider, not sure if this guy has a hands off approac all online or if he has a rapport withh customers but with businesses where the owner has a relationship with customers how many of those customers will stay around when the owner is no longer there and its a new owner?

Internet businesses are hard to value. With businesses they typically say 5 years profits but internet biz tends to be kinda fads so you can't relaly plan on making the same consistant income for 5 years, also since the internet is contsantly changing. My business makes 15k-20k a month but nobody would ever give me 5 years profits for it. I had an offer last year for 200k and the guy said he was overpaying. I tink i'd be lucky to get 50k for my biz however I would never sell it for that as 3 months I can make that.

Craigslist / Re: Why do people "overpost" on Craigslist ?
« on: May 30, 2014, 03:06:35 PM »
overposting can help you or hurt you. say on a used car, maybe i dont really have a specific make or model in mind just looking for the best car under a certain price point. in that sense it would help if someone overposts as i often dont make it past the first page so someone posted in the morning and im looking in the afternoon i wont see theirs. that said if someone is searching it doesn't matter how much you post if you have relevant keywords you will come up. honestly if i search something and see 10 similar ads obviously by same person ill oftentimes ignore it just out of principal as its annoying when people flood cl

eBay / Re: EBAY - Slowed down all the Free Listing Promotions.
« on: May 29, 2014, 04:50:33 PM »
one thing I notice is when i was doing storage auctions for my ebay stuff i was really focused on listing fees however now when i have a store i could care less about listing fees if i used to have to pay them or do now.

the only reason to really be focused on listing fees is because your items aren't selling and your worried about paying a fee to list, not having it sell and repeating that cycle several times before it sells. yeah maybe it eventually sells but how much time has it taken to sell that its taking up space in your ouse and that your sitting on it, having to relist it, etc.

if  your running into that problem you may be better off not listing items you dont think are going to sell as that drives down your % of items selling vs sitting and that hhurt you in search overall.

i catch myself doing this with my persona non business ebay account. i got stuf sitting around the house i dont wnna donate it or toss it as i see value in everyting and i continue listing it knowing its never going to sell or if it does for nearly nothingand im packing and shipping crap for almost no profit.

if an item doesn't sell after a time or two id donate it and take te write off
