Yes, I know...it depends on size, quality, etc.  I'm just asking for the average price you pay.

1412
Well I don't have much data to look at to figure this out so it will be easy!

Looks like your's increased due probably to your better understanding of what would sell and other factors.

Mine decreased because of locker prices, decrease in quality of goods in my area, decrease in my interest in lkrs and increase in "picking".

1413
It's 2013 and as of 2/8/2013 I have bought no lockers.

I used to buy about 4 a month (all I needed) but that has slipped over the last few years (see my signature below).

So, how many do you buy a month (NOW) and if you like, compare this to a year ago, two years ago, etc. My guess is it's gone down for whatever reason. Of course this would only apply to people here who actually have a HISTORY of buying....that takes more than one month of buying !  ;D

eBay / Re: UPS, FedEx & USPS - How to know which one to use
« on: February 07, 2013, 09:53:40 AM »
Am I having deja vu or just going crazy! I could swear there was another member who posted the exact same story of losing $7,000 on a COD mix-up by Fed-Ex! Maybe I recognize the story from another forum. Small World!

No, you're just remembering this thread from "rules".

I think it is Romelll that is having a problem here.

Don't know how many people will answer this...or answer honestly...but we'll see.

This won't be too meaningful to the new buyers, but perhaps an eye-opener for them anyway. Some new folks think they're going to get a gold-bar locker for $100 instead of $1,000 and up.

Anyway, in my area it is not uncommon to see regular, big bid buyers bringing $5k with them. This wouldn't be used on your everyday lkr of course, but perhaps on a high-end biz that went out of biz. Phone systems, computers, networking systems, plotter printers, etc command a high price here more often than not.

I once lost a collectible store (comic books, action figues in boxes) lkr because I had only brought $3,000. It went for the $3,100 the next bidder offered. This was in 2005.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: How far do you travel for an auction?

You’ll find answers here:

http://storageauctionforums.com/noobie-center/how-far-are-you-willing-to-drive-to-auctions/msg9568/#msg9568

and here:

 ;D

Edit:

And this is a link to a thread where the over 2500 members here can actually VOTE in a poll telling how far they would travel. So far only 26 people have voted. Maybe we can get that up to 30 !  ;D

It was meant as sarcasm and not towards you MM......

Yeah, I knew sarcasm was in there, but I have to admit I understood it better once you explained it!  ;D

Alias300....

Not sure I really follow your post #14 above, but I personally take no offence.

I know the eBay IDS (and some Craigslist indicators) on more than a few posters here and I use them just to see what those folks are up to and selling. Never hurts (IMO) to see what is selling (and where).

I specifically don't mention things I am selling on eBay because I don't want anymore competition for a given item than already exists there.

If I have an item on eBay for $100 and some poster here lists theirs for $50 buy it now it probably is going to woo away some buyer that MIGHT have chosen mine; of course we'll never know for sure. ;D

I don't think I can participate in the "Treasure Chest" forum cause anything great I find & post, Movieman will just cross reference it with Craiglist & Ebay & "out" my identity to the public.

I'd like to keep a little anonymity in here.

Well, I haven't done that to you or anyone else here, so I wouldn't do it later.
The satisfaction in that regard is simply "knowing" the facts, not in revealing them to others.
(well OK, there are SOME exceptions, but it's not with members).

As an example, I didn't "out" the member here who sold store gift cards on eBay and got three negative feedbacks for not actually sending them out to the buyers. If THAT isn't aggregious, nothing is.

It's always like this.

And that's true of all forums..."high" volume in a given thread or two during "x" time period, then nothing 'till the next time (and maybe another thread).

Meanwhile......

I think some of them get what they deserve.

Yes, the truth does have a way of coming out.

So, one could reasonably assume it's not wise to argue over Best Buy gift cards.  ;)

Wink away !
