Isn't it funny how people will think about $1 item for forever but you mark it for $5 and they will walk up offer $3 and buy instantly!  All psychology I guess....

Like our owner says, never talk in terms of dollars, build the value of the product so the price doesn't matter.....

Whoa there! That sounds like way to much work! :)

Had half of a tractor trailer full of small cheap appliances. Wanted to move them fast and easy.
When you have the entire back room stacked floor to ceiling with grills, toasters, cheap DVD players.....sorta makes you feel like your living a scene out of Goodfellas!  Time to bargain sell and reinvest.....

Since we have so many new members to the board (again).  I figured I'd share some of my discoveries of late.
4) George Formen Grill, Iron

So what all have ya'll found so far this month????

I hate those words...."George Forman Grill".

At one point I ended up with over 50 of the small ones, sell in store for $14.99, on Internet for $10.
First 15-20 went fast.... Then sat on them. One here, one there.
Finally sold as lot for $2each.

Just saw one of the items I bid on went for $86. Bit confused cause I had an auto-bid up to $101!

How does that happen?

Alias why even argue? Just walk away.  :o  LOL

Cause sometimes, just sometimes, I meet an individual that annoys me to such a great extent that I venture outside my natural state of "whatever" and feel the need to call them out.....

I've noticed that too. More at the 'trendy' flea's that have turned to organic farmers markets.

Guy wanted $100 for Snap-On set of wrench's. Told him they were about 10-15 years old and the same set now for $115 and are redesigned to be more comfortable in the hand and lighter, stronger alloy.

He argued with how I was wrong even though I had the website and price right on my phone!

Finally he just said that I was still saving $15.

Why would I by used when I can get new, better ones for $15? And if I get it from the truck the guy prints out a tax slip for me at the end of the year! No fuss, no saving receipts.....

Three days stuck. Don't know final count but from yesterday at 8am till 6am this morning there was 10" on my car. Power out. Internet down. No cell service.

Finally made it to work. Lost two eBay bids. Some nasty emails on not contacting people.....

Been fun. :)

The Lounge / SOPA. Do your part.

Just a reminder, since most here probably use the websites at the highest risk, to stop *****ing and start taking action.

Please visit craigslist today and follow links on how to do your part.

And if you happen to support SOPA Id really like your input on why? Cause I can't see a positive side to how the bill was written.....

Thanks y'all

Movieman is our resident private investigator. If you leave enough information on the forums, he will find your Craigslist account, Ebay account, your current employer and the current location of your first girlfriend/boyfriend! LOL  ;)

All I ask is that if he steals my identity and gets credit cards in my name he tells me how he did it. ....not how he stole my identity.....how he got credit in my name....cause I can't even do that!  ;D

My friends work shut down so he said he'd drive me. Has the worlds largest, lifted, 1ton, 4x4.
Called around and most cancelled. Others are spread out. Figured miles and his gas guzzler would cost well over $100 in gas and if I got a locker, and contents are more than a truck bed, I'd be forced to rent it for a month.....cost vs reward didn't add up.

And as I stated elsewhere, right now I'm looking for specific types of lockers. If one looks like a total money maker, yeah!, I'm trying for it. But really looking for specific personal use items. (I need furniture)
Everyone else is hoping for gold&guns and I'm trying to control my excitement if I see a nice lazy boy! lol

But like you said, courious on turnout and locker price in this weather.....

It appears I already have a stalker.....  ;D

Yep, North West.   Nearest city everyone would know is Seattle.

Where I'm at, if there is a "slight chance" of snow in Seattle...we get a foot. But only in my driveway.

Only good thing about the snow is I've been sitting on 11 sets of snow chains. Now one, very limited time people buy those. Two, they are used and who the he'll wants slightly rusted, slightly crumpled, shoved in a box chains!?

But this storm hit fast and no stores have chains! At least not a supply. So those things hit CL at 5am and have sold 5, one more if the guy ever gets here.

Though this turns to a story that should be posted else where but short version....

Dozens of calls for them with "can you bring them to me?  when it says right in the ad "will not deliver! I have no car, it's stuck. You MUST come to me"

Lady wanted me to drive 40miles to deliver a $10 item.

Gotta love CL people.  lol

Huge line up of auctions this tue/we'd. Just so happens I'm off those days. Sold a bunch so got cash. Rented a locker to get some stuff outa ex's and TOTALLY misjudged and have plenty of room to store/sort. Even the use of a box van.

......and I'm totally snowed in. >:(

As far as fee's are concerned I've found it pays to shop around. I live with in easy distance to five municipalities transfer station.

Depends on what I'm dumping and how much. For example, one has a flat rate (filled car) of $30/unlimited weight. But by the ton is $140. Other is flat rate of $20 but only up to 250lbs.
One takes appliances for $30, other $20. Tires for $30 for up to four, other $10ea.

Saves a lot by first checking on rate fee's at various stations.
