In regard to your question about the metal man on the "motorcycle"....see this thread as a starting point.

http://storageauctionforums.com/index.php?topic=992.0

I think your's is more local than that....if I had it I would put it with plastic motorcycle models I am currently selling and try to get $3 to $5 for it....but hey, maybe it's worth $20 ?

Definately more local, I have tried like 20 combinations of words to find this thing, but nothing.

Aftermarket car cd player

This one has a story.

First of all I payed $250 for that 5x10 I show a picture in the other thread.  I over payed by $120 bucks but I guess like everyone it is a learner unit.  Having said this, I'll make money.

First few things I am falling in love with.

1. He takes phone bids.
2. He gives you A WEEK to clean out the unit.
3. I didn't pay sales tax.
4. I got at least 5 minutes by myself to damn near look at every item I could see in each unit.
5. There were 4 bidders total(after 4 showings) for 3 units in a metro Detroit area, and I thought the crowds at PS auctions were small.

Anyways on to the goods(I'll try to post pictures tomorrow, TIRED!)

2 Bombardier Ski Doo belt drives
The compound bow
Paint ball gun CO'2 canister
8 person Coleman tent
Basic Shoe/screw in cleets
Tools(some husky)
Holy 10 to 14 year old clothes
couple pairs of scrubs
Books galore
Some old looking sword thing with spanish written on it(rusty though
Some brand new shelving unit
A 10,000 Brazil note(Worth couple bucks, but it's sweet lol)
Some hand welded desk piece.
Fishing lure
Case that would be used to hold a coin collection

Disgusting finds
Slimy old fish
Food
Tampax

Tell you what I haven't worked this hard in a long time and I have like 3/4 of the damn unit to remove.

6:30 a.m. Pacific time on 9/8/2011 and got this message just before actually being able to post.

And in general it takes a long time for anything to come up or to change from one place to another. This problem seems to be contributing to folks not posting or even reading over the last couple of days.

I"m gonna need about 200 donuts to fill up the tank in my F350 Crew Cab Diesel though!

I don't mind all the lookers at the auctions, except that it makes a 20 minute auction take and hour and a half while everybody ambles by the door.  Makes for a long and boring day when you are on a multiple facility run!

I like this only when I want to make a auction and I am stuck somewhere until a certain time.

Bro find a lil bodega type shop that sells random dollar items. Pack a box full and give em a good box price. Thats the first thing i do. I would never store **** that aint worth ****.

That's kinda my thought. Like stuff a box full of dollar items and go to a resale shop and ask for say a third of the total resale price.

Just curious as to how you have made your contacts. Was it talking with life long friends or just talking with others at auction?  I will be going around to different fleas to get business cards, but is this enough?

Thats a good deal congrats on your find for used mattresses

I guess it is kinda like getting a locker in a way, but damn I wanted the rim and tire unit I saw today.  Oh well, on to Friday's sealed bids.  Time to clean up? Stay tuned!

This lkr was a 10/20. Im tellin ya acman lkrs here in the thumb area are cheaper than your area by a long shot.

Oh, I bet, but the selling format here is also vastly different from the thumb.  Down here craigslist buyers are abundant(for the right item) and resale shops(and pawn shops.....yuck) are everywhere and are quick ways to unload certain items.

I know what the thumb area is going through(like 40% unemployment rate) and driving down to the metro area could fetch you more money up front but you might lose it on gas prices.

The Lounge / Re: Vietnam Dong For Sale - Million Dong Lots $75 Free Shipping
« on: September 07, 2011, 06:51:07 PM »
So whats the logic and reasoning behind this then?

Whats the Dong to Dollar rate at right now? lol

I really think the only way I'd ever buy cheap or hard to get international currency was if it was all bills in the set and framed, but thats just me.

I'm not getting server errors here(using chrome) but its like site is either constantly refreshing or is loading, even after it has completely loaded.

Went to an auction this morning. It was a sealed bid. The unit doors were already opened when I got there. Started looking at then then I get to this golden unit. There was about an inch of dust covering everything. Nothing had been moved or touched in 12 years since the facility owner bought the place. There was some nice looking furniture, a metal box buried of some sort, boxs piled high in one corner a rebel flag folded. I bid 195.50 but high bid was 365. I was so curious as to what was in those boxs. I bet there was some valuable items.

Anyone else see or get lkrs like this? If so please share stories.

Just curious as to what the size of the locker was.  Got my sealed bids on Friday and am rather curious.

Yeah terrorbow, so much for the rainy weather arguement. Dumb bidders still abound.  Another auction, another day I go empty handed.  I know I am going to get one, but it is so hard to wait.  I would have had my first unit today if an idiot buyer wasn't there.
