Thanks

Is interesting to see the other side..

Was reading about cookies and doughnuts being served at auction... We don't get crap... LOL

"With every auction we serve coffee and homemade cookies. I spend the evening prior baking Snikerdoodles and Chocolate Chip Pecan (most requested). We have homemade cookies on our counter every day. Often people call and ask what the cookie of the day is. "   :o

Will keep us entertained while things are slowing down (on the forum).   ;D

What's it Worth?? / Re: Antique Table
« on: March 30, 2012, 06:57:02 AM »
Check you CL area for older tables and see what is out there in your area.

The top looks older than the base could be a mixed piece. not sure though.

My area would start at $125 - $150 and see. Can always come down.

Or take the first offer and double that $80. someone trying to make money usually wants double.

Take some old english dark furniture polish to it, will cover some of the scratches and give it some oil.

Good Luck.

Nice analyst.

Easy Money, or Money for Nothing.

None of this is easy, and if you count your labour, time, gas, wear and tear on your vehicle for free then you get money for nothing.  ;)

Our current area is flooded with yard sales, 25 - 50 a weekend. makes that part hard.

Glad you are enjoying those grandchildren.

Think it is easier being a grandparent than a parent. (my experience)  ;D

Hope you are right for why the post are slowing on here.

I have to go move some boxes and get things listed.  :P

Enjoy your vacation.

Looks scary. !!!!!!!

Would not even give them half what they are asking.  Maybe they should pay someone to clean it out, given they combined units.

but sure someone will buy it for what they are asking.

They should have a buyer feed back on those units.  ;D

Clean it? Heck, there is nothin' better in the morning than hood fried eggs and pollen!

;o)

We can add caterpillars for protein too.  ;)

What's it Worth?? / Re: Antique rough sewing machine
« on: March 28, 2012, 05:16:23 AM »
Like Cobia said market flooded with them.

Like what Bowie said break it apart and make something new. I know the pieces sell.

Could try and sell whole but maybe $75 - $100.  ??? Mainly because the wood design is different.

Look under the plate near the needle on the machine. If the bullet bobbin is there those are worth something, usually always missing.  Looks like this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Antique-Singer-VS2-Bullet-Shuttle-Case-Long-Bobbin-Cleaned-27-28-127-128-/310351489635?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item484263ea63

If you put in a shop take the bullet out they get stolen a lot too.

Hope that helps. let us know what you wind up doing.

Alias on last question no answer here.

But wished had your problem.  Kinda like Craig, good stuff getting thin, and junk stuff plenty.

Had someone come out for a table and three chairs price $50. need to move it. Said too much work to be done on it  ??? Not perfect but not falling apart either.

And the guy was terrified of my Uncles dog that came over so missed opportunity to try and sell different table and chairs for $125.  dog harmless just big. But they did not want to spend more than $50. Oh well.

Hope your surgery goes well. And hope you find something better than day time TV. to do.  ;)

Bet this unit sells for 1,854 . URL no longer active.

Take your bet and raise you to $3200.    ::)

Could be wrong but in my area maybe $2200. When the crazes are out.

Great, are you sure? Wouldn't them being great deals be determined by the resale value of the contents?

Yes and from the description sounds like he will do well on the contents.

Sounds great.

2 lockers for $150 is really great. Easy to make a profit when you don't have to spend too much.

Should post your auction buys on the Auction Scene thread will give a lot of encouragement, no one finding those kind of prices on lockers.  ;D

Good luck with the coats.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Staged units.
« on: March 24, 2012, 06:59:05 AM »
Actually, I've always said I think it's about 1 out of 50 to get a "really good" locker....one in which I can make
5 to 10 times the money, but I think that ratio has changed. Maybe it's 1 in 100 or more now.

Had put 1 out of 100 to begin with (not enough coffee yet) sorry for the miss quote.

But I think it has changed if you can get lucky enough to get 50 lockers in this environment.

Yes survival is the key at this point. Diversifying.

Very sad on both parts.

On the stage units recently happened to fellow forum member. IMO.

On the show great for entertainment sad people believe it.

Down here in FL. I remind noobies that people come here to die (retire) all their treasures are sold when they move or are stored in their former state.

I count Moviemans 1 out of 500 to 1 out of 2000.  ;D

Thanks for the post.
