Some newbies are just plain stupid.

We had one yesterday, he was one of those "big shots" "know it all" type of guy.
He told everyone how he ruled back in his own home town, but still he did not know a jack ****, he did know he had to sign in, he did not know he could not go in the locker, he did not know it was cash only.  ::)

Well he was all over the place, standing in the back bidding with the same "YEAP" as dave on Storage wars, and then he switch to become Darrel from storager wars, flicking his fingers, and yell out "Yeap" at the same time.

This guy was such a pain in the ass to have around, so the ones of us who have done this for a while looked at each other and nicked our heads, it was time to take him to the top and dump his sorry ass.

Well we came to this perfect unit, with what we all could see was worthless ****. and heavy to load and haul.
We took him up to 675.00 and dumped the **** on his head.

He then had to break out of the group to go to an ATM 2 blocks down the street, while we kept on bidding on units.

Newbies, JUST STAY AT HOME! you are gonna be hurt.

SCORE!!!! Good one Mr. A!!! Where are you located? Tell me in the ATL area!!!

I am located in Memphis,TN.

Yeah this was a score, just the silver it self is $3500.00 with today's prices.

When it comes to VHS tapes and beanie babies, i am a collector, i have contact with other collectors, so selling beanie babies for their collectors value, 5-20 dollars is not hard. VHS tapes in mint condition i can get anywhere between 3 and 7 dollars for. But it has to be the right titles and in very good condition.

And as we all know when it comes to collectors stuff, it goes up and down. In 2-3 years from now you get a new collectors boom on lets say beanie babies, i have the time to sit on them if they don't sell for what i want for them. So i just sell them later at the next boom.

Beeing a collector is always a long term thing. My lockers is diveded into to two parts, things i can sell to pay for the unit and get my money back, + selling the collectbles. Typical collectors stuff i either keep or sell to fellow collectors. If that happends today or tomorrow or next year is not importent.

How can i share this with you guy's? hmmmm.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today i won a locker for $225.00 and it was a 5x5 packed from the bottom to the top.
I have only opened 3 boxes out of a total of 12 + there is a few plastic containers i have not opened.

But let me tell you guys, this is the fricken best 225.00 dollars i have ever spent in my life.

From the 3 boxes i have opened i have  so far found over 7lbs of sterling silver, a collection of beanie babies (34 in total) MINT condition, i have found gun related stuff, i have found casino chips with face value of $300.00 but they are beeing sold on ebay for 3-4 times the face value, i have found eminence loudspeakers, i have found 122 original VHS tapes in mint condition, i have found tools, i have found ammo for a ruger 9mm. i have found a brand new portable stove.

And i can only wonder what is in the rest of the boxes. I know for sure, since i have to go there tomorrow and clean out the unit, i will not sleep for one second tonight.

PPics of my findings will be posted shortly.

This week has been nuts.

I tell you, this week has been nuts, crazy and everything inbetween.

About 45-50 people at the auction, 14 of us the regulars, rest of the pack, new newbies that i have not seen before.
Well i did not know what was planned, but i got the clue pretty fast.
The regulars with deep pockets outbid everyone, bids starting at 400 dollars for a 5x5 with just trash. Every now and again they stuck a unit to the newbies for 1200-1400 dollars. Maybe worth 1/3 of that.

They pretty much sent a signal to the newbies, that if you want to be a part of it, then you better pay.
Some of the newbies left halfway thru the auction because they did not have enough money. LOL 3 newbies left after buying one locker becasue they spent it all. LOL

Well then we had this little "pecker" or shall i say "rat", he is a newbie who have been around for 3 or 4 auctions. He won a locker 4-5 weks ago, for 125.00 but he could not pay for it, so basicly he is bidding without money.

Well this got out, and he is running around bidding like a mad man up to 800-900 dollars, and he bids on every unit, does not matter what it is. Well some of the old guys found this out, they ran 3 lockers up to 650, 725 and 1100 and dumped it on him. Here is the funny part. He got so angry that he won the units, and complained that he had ADHD and could not be held responsible for his bidding. The auctioneer asked him if he had the money for the 3 units he won. He flat out said no, so the auctioneer asked him how he was going to pay for it. NO ANSWER.  This was the last time he is attending that auction tour.

Only ammo and gun parts and magazine for me so far.
But one of the regular  guys here in Memphis got a locker last month with 4 guns and a rifle in it. The rifle looked almost brand new.

I WANT MY GUN LOCKER TO!

Depends on the product.

Some things i might sell the same day as i win the auction, just to free up space, or have less to move around.
Other things i might sit on to get more for it. And then you have thoe things you just can't sell. I am a sucker for keeping old cameras (older then 1960) Coca-cola stuff,  and wrist watches. I collect this 3 items, so they are hard for me to sell.

Other Forms of Selling / Re: Online sales channels
« on: February 27, 2011, 08:02:17 PM »
For general stuff then ebay and CL are the best.
For more specific stuff then the others are better.

Like if you get aquarium stuff, then Aquabid is the best place.
Guns and related stuff, then go to gunbroker.

eBay / Re: Currently free listing and free buy it now on ebay
« on: February 27, 2011, 07:58:17 PM »
I just sold my bulletproof vest on Ebay today. i got $225.00 for it. And with free listing it helped a bit.
The last two weeks i have sold more and more on ebay.

Of course there are cheap people in there, but you also have the collectors in there, so if you have something that is worth something, you can hit jackpot on ebays as well.

eBay / Re: Anyone have success selling clothes on ebay?
« on: February 27, 2011, 07:55:05 PM »
One thing i learned about selling clothing is.

Have a yardsale and advertise it in your local paper and CL. Then you go to your local mexican resturant and ask them if you can hang up a flyer.

My first yardsale i only put it on CL, and got ok response.
Thn i put an ad in the paper and a flyer at my local mexican resturant.

Let me tell you, you WANT mexicans to come to your yardsale. They goes totally bananas over clothing, i sold most of it for $1.00 a pice.
The thing with mexican's are, they are your best advertisement for cheap stuff, and they buy tons of stuff.

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Furniture Selling
« on: February 26, 2011, 08:22:50 AM »
You can try http://www.ebayclassifieds.com/ this is the classifides for ebay.

Also i would try to put up some sales flyers around in your local neighborhood. At your local store, gas station and so on. Also try to post it on CL but in a town&place close to you. If you have tried in your own town, try the next town closest to you.

LOL ohh i know.

Yesterday i went thru 1 box and 3 black garbage bags i got in a unit i month ago. They have been in my storage collecting dust, becasue i thought it was junk.

Well the box had 9 brand new DVD's wrapped in plastic and a brand new hunting knife.

One of the black garbage bags was full of old magazines, and i did not think it was anything special, until i saw a collection of 6 old superbowl tickets and game programs. They are in 98% mint condition. They will slide right into my collection.
