That is a cavern..  :D...
Good price that would have gone for double or triple in my area.. Everyone looking for those gold bars...LOL

Great Job first time out... I don't think we have even seen a unit that size... Have only seen one or two
10 X 30's.
Welcome to the forum and keep us updated on the final count on this unit.

Those are about average prices for my area.  I'd of purchased both of the $170 units.  I'm a sucker for totes / boxes to search in.  Hate furniture - even if that is where the money is.

Yeah the first one my husband really wanted... But the guy bidding would have kept going...Same with the second $170.00...  I liked that one. This auction was in a much larger city than ours... Our area is in pretty bad economical situation. So The prices were high to make a profit off in our area..

never knew that you need a resale licenses
Depends on where you are selling... Yard Sale No.. Ebay (under a certain $ amount ?) No. Some Flea Markets in my are require you to have one. I have not gotten mine yet, not needed.

On the money side... Take what you can spend. We only took $200 on our first run of auctions. Spent more time learning.
We went to 3 days of auctions total of maybe 40 units..Learned a lot still no purchase because the prices were to high for what we could see. Our first locker was $30.00 it was not a big thing garbage to most...But we were planing a yard sale and needed what we saw and got it for the right price.

I would just say you have covered all the bases in your questions and post except how you are going to sell what you get.

We buy small furniture lockers... Have a thrift store contact that cosigns the furniture. We go ask her what she needs and that is what we look for. Or last locker was just furniture no boxes, totes nothing, not even garbage... LOL  Trying to find one with the small furniture with some totes... But what we have seen the prices are to high.
Wish you luck. On the first ones you go to try and guess what the unit will go for.

That is how I like it. Selling before you even get it loaded.
Good luck with finding more goodies. Keep us posted.

Hope you can get something done with this guy.

Have a question I think kinda on the same line here.

Florida here Storage act # 83.801 - 83.809.

Found a listing that stated

"PRIVATE LIEN SALE
Pursuant to Florida Self Storage Law 83.806" Section 83.806 is enforcement of the lien. May be in their rental agreement for Private sale.

In same paper this is posted "In accordance with 93.805 of the Florida. Self Storage Facility Act" This one could be a typo... but what if they hold the auction and some smart person realizes they messed up.

Any body run across this?
thanks

Well last minute decision to do a run to an area we have not been too. Could not make the first two facilities but hit the last two. about 30 people all more professional compared to Lookey Loos..
5X5 Dryer kids toy 1/2 packed. $250
5X5 roll of bubble wrap, hard hat, vinyl floor backing.  a lot of totes $170
5X10 Furniture, sofa, love seat, mattress, bed frame, dinning room table. Not high end maybe ten boxes
$300.00
5X10 a lot of boxes looked like clothes. 1/2 full clean looking. $170.00.

Better than our immediate area. but still a little High IMO.

On the hunt next week. have to get the final touches for the Flea this weekend.

Got one today...an 8 x 15...paid $400.

Looked OK when I bid, but looking not so good now. Guess I didn't look carefully enough at the quality and overestimated the number of boxes with the small stuff I like.

Hopefully will be a break even or maybe a little profit....working 4 nothin'...and the chicks AREN'T free.  The chicks are never free :o
Hope you find something in there to break even.
Changed our plans and heading out on Tuesday hopping for something good for Thanksgiving and not a Turkey.  :D

I would send each of the 1,949 members here (which excludes me as the 1,950th member) a PayPal payment of $25 so they could buy an auction list. For 1,900 of those people it would be the most profit they would make in this biz !  ;)

                                Laughing out Loud !!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

You are a nice guy... But sadly I think you are right.

Oh, that it had been one of us !

Maybe next time.

Would not here from me again if was me......  ;D
Just Kidding.

It looked like a bad unit for $1,100. I wonder what folks saw that made them bid like that.

And $600 for the other one... I am with you would have walked away at @$175... maybe $250.
He was a nob so maybe was just bidding him up on it. Guess he got the last laugh.

Hope you do well Fayettenam.  I also purchased a teachers unit last month at a silent auction.  Don't think I'll make money on the unit...way too many boxes of papers and such.  Can't wait till next week and another new set of auctions for me.

My Aunt is a teacher and would not want her locker... LOL but on the flip side she has a ton of craft supplies.

Could  advertise the stuff for Crafts or to teachers as supply. Just a thought.

Heading out tomorrow for new auctions.
