What's it Worth?? / Re: Found this at a yard sale today..

Yeah, I noticed that it was backwards. I'm thinking it's a homemade piece and they did a Charles Manson..

Actually, the swastika you picture WAS the original if I have read material correctly. It dates back a long-time to Asian and other areas. Hitler reversed it for his purposes.

I did see some stamps from that era on ebay.. so apparently they allow "some" stuff..

After I typed in swastika on eBay, 10 pages (or more) of COINS came up, so I guess stamps and coins are OK, but actual metals or cloth emblems I think not.

Anyway, see my other post comparing yours to the picture I included.

Something struck me about your picture so I did some quick research.

Check out this pic and compare it to yours.

Notice any difference?

I had read about this years ago when I saw something about it.

I'm hoping it's related to the 1936 Olympics somehow..

Any ideas?

If it is related to those Olympics (or not) one place you won't be able to sell it is eBay. Nor will you be able to research it there. Strickly "verboten".

Picker's Paradise / Re: Is Gettting Great Deals at Retail "Picking"
« on: August 09, 2013, 02:25:49 PM »
Hey,

I often find Great Deals at Retail Outlets that I resell.  Does this count as Picking?

It does in my book.

A couple of years ago I bought 75 rocket sets at a dollar store....$1 plus tax each.  Sold all 75 for $5 each.

They came with one rocket, 3 engines.

besides , I do liquidation business too.

There are plenty of GA based people here. Someone will probably come forward with an answer for you.

eBay / Re: What's Your Worst eBay Horror Story ?
« on: August 08, 2013, 10:20:33 PM »

no I said the amount I could sell went down from 150k a month to 3k a month , my limit went down. I would never sell 150k a  month on ebay. I would cry with all the poops that happen there

I figured that, but it was MY intention to inquire whether you could legitimately LIST more than $3,000 a month in the first place?  I know I couldn't.

eBay often does weird things like allow one to place 50,000 ads free "this week". Even a large business wouldn't be able to do that.  Sure there are businesses which have 150,000 feedback, but that didn't happen in a year (or if it did they had one HECK of a product they were selling).

I am in Marietta Georgia any suggestions would be great

My suggestion is you stick with the $150,000 in sales you are doing on eBay each month. (see your other post of today, 8/8/2013).

ebay restricts how many items I can sell a month to only three thousand dollars worth down from 150k worth and they hold my money on paypal.

If you are actually selling $150,000 a month on eBay you have NO reason to complain and would be foolish to stop using them.

My guess is the Karma feature is a non-issue.

I've tried to buy what I call "specialized" tools and turn them over for good bucks. Travis has named me the new king of "specialized" tools but "kidding" or not, if you find a niche like this you don't want to actually name the item as the less competition for such things on eBay...the better !

Anyway, I bought one tool for $35 and sold it for $275. That one was a used model. At the same ranch sale I bought a brand new one for $75 and sold it for $1,050. In my mind that's serious money.  Doesn't happen every day, or even once a month, but half a dozen to nine times a year it does, and the several hundred dollar markups are reasonably common.

Obviously it helps to find sellers who haven't a clue as to what they've got, or when they orginally bought the item years ago it was cheaper and they weren't keeping up with the times.

I'm sure some of you have found unused stamps in a locker before.

I had two good scores along those lines. A $1,000 locker had $84 in stamps I could use myself and a $10 crate I bought had $116 in "currency".

Takes a while to use them up of course since snail mail isn't used as much as it used to be, but oh well, money is money.

You?

eBay / Do cigarette company "stamps" still sell on eBay?
« on: August 08, 2013, 09:18:45 AM »
I used to find "stamps" from Marlboro in lockers and at the time I think they sold on eBay for people who wanted to redeem them for items like backpacks, fishing rods, etc....all stamped with the Marlboro name.

I doubt Marlboro issues those anymore, but I wonder if they are still redeemable?

Surely (and don't call me Shirley) some member here from New York has been on hand and can hand out some info on the show.

Shirley?  ;D

Uusally there are around 3 to 12 but once in a while a HUGE number comes up....ususally because of mis-management over a number of years.

I didn't go to this one (about 1.5 years ago) because it was 250 miles away, but it had.....wait for it....120 lockers.

You?
