Bouncing bidders!!!

Now that is a youtube video I would love to see!

Oh great~I just read your comment to my husband and he's threatening to pull a Barry with a pogo stick!   :-\
With him being 6' 4" seeing over a crowd is rarely an issue~

Fun thread!
The visual of money butchering a mattress is hysterical.  Next time just grab a bic and fire that mother up! 8)

bulldogmom~I was going to suggest the springs on the bottom of shoes and try to sell them to the vertically challenged at auctions!  ;D

Yeah!  The stool went for $80!  A couple days ago I thought about pulling the ad and either offering it to an antique buddy or even holding it till the next antique fair (last Sat we were rained out), but so glad I decided to let it ride~

Now hopefully we'll see some action on the Vermont sign!

Money.......are you peeking again?!?!

 ;D

Yep, that was a great locker buy !  I do have to agree with Craigs... though. I've found that having 5 to 10 watchers often doesn't turn into a lot of multiple bids...sometimes one of those will throw in a bid, but I believe when we're dealing with that number of watchers, it's often (not always) people we know (like people here) and people who have the same item and want to see how you do with yours.

On the other hand when getting something like 25 watchers the odds of getting maybe 3 or so additional bidders seems to go up.

25 watchers?!?!  What was that?  An "authentic" Rolex for $50??
I've had numerous items with no watchers, 2 hits and nary a bid~so this is heaven for me! ;D

And I know most aren't serious bidders (see me when I was watching that 'other' piano stool), but still interest is up and folks are bidding......great time to be a junk dealer~ 8)

Just woke up and checked my ebay items and I have 28 folks 'watching'  7 items.  6 of those came from our Big Wheel  locker.  The piano stool has received its first bid and with 8 watchers, I'm hoping the price goes up.

This guy just had unique stuff and folks seem to dig that!

Can't wait to head out to the swap meet and see how we do with the 'other' stuff from that unit~

Tempted to put the runway beacon on, but shipping that beast would be a *****!  Besides, we sold the big wheel yesterday (much to our daughters' chagrin), so we could 'afford' to keep it if I so choose~ 8)

Piss off.
It was early and I'd just taken a couple  Percocets   ;D

Oh sure....blame the drugs!  So I get a piss off~would really have loved to have seen your retort before the modification. ;)
Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humor~ ;D

Finally the deceased grandson said that this isn't a 'real' auction.

The deceased grandson spoke?!?! :o

Sorry~I knew what you meant but that just struck me as funny~ 8)

Great story(ies)~

Funny thing is I did end up selling one of the queen size mattresses to a guy for $40. When he showed up to look at it I pointed out all the imperfections so he knew he wasn't getting a new mattress. His reply: "I don't care about that, it's for my dog, and your price is cheaper then a new dog bed."
My first thought is 'how big is your dog?!?!'

veering back to the auction scene~
Attempted two different, little known, auctions over Fri/Sat.  Both were cancelled with no way of knowing.  Tried calling numerous phone #'s etc, to no avail the day(s) before and again on the way to said auctions..  Lots of crabby 'regulars' over the weekend here.  Lucky for us they were both within 25 miles, but still.....hate the wasted gas and time.

Can't find any auctions in our neck o' the desert this week, so time for organizing and listing~

Well I'm sitting here listening to Don out tinkering with the big wheel.  It's running!!  I keep looking out in the yard (which is clean and organized, as we had rain last night~thanks bulldogmom for sending it over~) and thinking 'we bought a motorcycle?!'  The girls of course are "We bought a motorcycle!!!".

Was investigating them this morning and found numerous youtube videos by MisterBigWheel.  They are a blast and if ya enjoy off-road humor check 'em out.

this one is my favorite~

I still cant figure out how to post pictures.  Help!!

Well the following worked for me....of course I stumbled upon how to do it and explaining it is quite difficult, but perhaps you can start here and muddle your way through.
You have to have your pics hosted somewhere online (mine are at the Kodak Gallery).  Open both windows.  Click on the 2nd icon, lower left above (the one that looks like a pic).  You should then see two sets of bracketed letters (img).  Open the picture then right click on it.  You'll have numerous options.  Click 'view image info' and you should be given a link.  Right click that link and copy it.  Insert that between the brackets and it should show up.
Somebody needs to develop a photo posting guideline that even I can read and understand......would make life so much easier~

Good luck~

Love the stool.

And your yard looks like ours.... sure you were not in it? LOL

Well I do have tarps and a roof over it. But other wise looks the same.

I know! and that is the most organized we've ever been after unloading a decent-sized locker! :D

I just double-checked on my piano bench and found this one with the exact base, just a different seat:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270953877022

Thought about taking it to the antique fair this weekend, but heck.....can't even come close to what they're willing to pay on ebay~
Have to get it listed I guess.

And with our yard....if you look at the first pic of the stool where the archery target is......our property line is actually another 1/4 acre beyond that.....so we can expand!! :o

edit to say~alright....which one of you guys managed to have a banner ad at the bottom of my screen that says "Storage Sheds Tucson"?!?!   8)

No prob MovieMan.....you'll be the ??  well not first, second or third, but top 100 at least!

Now here is the stool and a platform rocker I hope to have reupholstered by Sat (antique fair) and a big old rockin' chair!

Hey? Did it really work?  Anybody else see a rough-assed Yamaha Big Wheel and a really messy backyard?
