I just went back to see this article again, and it is now gone. Any reason why you removed it?

Reality Shows about Storage Auctions / Storage Wars Dallas
« on: August 01, 2011, 08:44:54 AM »
You guys mentioned the filming in Dallas you went to. Does anyone know if there is a schedule of where they might be filming the show? Is so where is it posted or how can we get intel. Someone said if you show up they will get a release from you and put you on the show as a background bidder. I would at least like to watch.

Storage Auctioneers / Storage Wars Dallas Walt Cade or Sutton

Check out this article posted Sunday in Towers Over Texas by Bill Bam

towersovertexas(dot)com/2011/07/24/storage-wars-dallas-taping/

Went to the storage auctions at Abby Storage on Military Parkway in Dallas this past Friday and low and behold Storage Wars Dallas was taping the auctions. There were 14 units up for auction and must say the prices on the units that had some value was crazy high. $250 units going for $600 and $100 units going for $400, no way to make a living buying stuff like that at retail price. Funny how people get so carried away when they think they have a chance to get on TV.

The two guys who seemed to be the main characters of the show seemed very dull. They had very little to say and really only talked when they were promted by the director for the camera’s sake. The auctioneer, Jackie Sutton, was the star of the show. Jackie is a real cowboy, stetson and all, and his Texas drawl is as real as they come. He runs the best aucitons in the Metroplex, very organized so there was little waiting time. Even with the show taping (and retaping) he was able to get 14 auctions done in about 1.5 hours. Well done Jackie!

The current tapings are due to air sometime in the fall when Storage Wars Dallas premieres (not sure if that is going to be the exact title of the show.) Hopefully these auctions make the final cut and an episode is made out of them. There were some great moments through the day. One was the finding of a “loaded” 22-caliber rifle in a locker, which was removed and unloaded for the cameras. Unfortunately any firearm that is visible (handgun or long gun) is removed and not sold, per Texas law. The other highlight of the day was the facility manager’s son, he was the spitting image of Jackie, all dressed in his stetson cowboy hat and cowboy boots. He followed Jackie around all day and “help” him call the auctions. The main characters did buy a couple units so hopefully they find somehting good in the units to make it worth while for A&E to air this as a show

Does anyone have any Intel on where Storage Wars Dallas might be filming. I have been finding out only AFTER they were at a location. None of the websites are posting the locations. I want to watch the filming. Info anyone?

Since the show is scheduled to premier in fall, I would imagine that they are already filming. I should be hitting some auctions in the Dallas area around July 23rd, while I'm there promoting our new website. I'll let you guys know what I hear or see.

I have been unable to obtain any information in cast members. Auctioneer Walt Cade is not answering any questions. I have phoned people I know are with the show, even called employees that I know should be affiliated with Storage Wars Dallas, Nothing. All I know is several are from the Tyler Area! Nothing but pure secrecy. I cant even confirm where these auctions are.

No response from Walt yet in regards to the cast members.

You are probably correct on your theory movie man. If not, it sure sounds good!

Ronin knows something.....LOL. Alas we will find out, Shouldnt be too tuff. Just make a few phone calls. Hey inquiring minds need to know. And because you guys are doing it all in a full secrecy makes us just want to find out more. Surely somene will talk!!!  A bidder, an auctioneer, a storage facility worker, LOL

The challenge is on. Makes some calls and lets find out.

Where is your blog?

You are getting confused. The Storage Wars Dallas is a NEW show, it has nothing to do with July 20th. All I can say is when they got to American Harbor Storage in Oak Cliff, bidders signed a release for Storage Wars Dallas and the Camera crew from A&E was there. They were all told it was Storage Was Dallas. A new show. I Called American Harbor and they confirmed that it was filmed there. Not of the California Actors will be on the new show. They are an all new cast.
Hope this clears it up for all of you!

Ok it sounds like the new Storage Wars Dallas is a diiferent show. The characters include several ladies, A Black guy, and a couple of cowboys. The Auctioneer is a Texas Cowboy right out of Texas, They did their first one at American Harbor Storage in Oak Cliff. This version of the show has nothing to do with the CA show. They will be running Both of them!!!!

Just got a call from my brother. He has a friend that was at a storage auction south of dallas. Storage Wars was there with a film crew of 25 or more. They were filming today. It is an all new cast and really looks sharp. They made everyone that showed up sign a release as if they might be included in the show. Had a fight too during the shoot. None of the characters are from the original show. This is an all new show. Storage Wars Dallas !!!!

I started out liking AH better than SW, but have now reversed that. AH is just too set up for me. The episode that turned me was with 4 lkrs at the site, they got two. One had the quad and the other had the little boat. Nope, can't buy that.

SW on the other hand has gotten a little more realistic with people losing money sometimes...Barry frequently.

I thought with the show going to new states that the whole buying crew would be new, but preview shows the regulars. The Las Vegas episodes were a stretch...4 hour drive from LA.  If they are in Texas, how does them buying lkrs fly at all. Only a couple of weeks to the answer.
