eBay / Re: eBay buyer Protection!!!!!
« on: October 19, 2011, 07:07:57 PM »
Ok, so after having a tiff with one of the girls in Customer Supports from eBay, I was finally able to speak to someone that could hold a conversation without taking offence to an upset customer and had more brains than a Nincompoop ::)... Jason, "The Human" that I spoke with informed me of the following, "The Buyer Protection Plan is to protect the buyer from a falsified, damaged or lack there of an item. eBay states that everyone has to give their credit or debit card to eBay for the purposes of identification and or the Buyer Protection Plan. It is stated that once the seller reaches 25 sales with an adequate number of good responses, over $300 in sales and 90 days of selling then the person can maybe change the method of payment from a debit or credit card to PayPal. But it is at the discretion of eBay. So in other words, if a buyer opens a claim against the seller...The seller will either have to cater to the buyer to make sure they r happy or it goes to the Buyer Protection Plan. At that point eBay investigates the case. If they find that the seller is at fault eBay will withdraw the funds from the debit or credit card that the seller listed.
I ended up giving my card to eBay. However, I think that once I sell the last of the items that I have on there currently I will close my account with eBay. There are plenty of other sites out there ready and willing to support my business in a less stressful environment!!!

Storage Auctions "In The News" / Re: This is REALLY BAD news!!

I think this is just a ploy to try and get more money from the ppl in that state. "Hey, if we can track all transactions, then we can tax those transactions..." Just another way for the greedy ppl up top to stuff more money in their bottomless pockets.  :P Blaaa

Thanks for the tip. I have something similar to what u were describing... not as detailed. ;) I got about 2 months into the spreadsheet and then found it too cumbersome to go out with pen and paper jot everything down. come back home input in comp, then do the research on ea item. I usually use the ipad for research so that I can be out in the living room with the kids... For me, it seemed that I was duplicating a lot of work. I donno. Maybe I need to invest in a separate server that all of my comps run from. At least that way I can take the ipad to the storage facility inventory there and have it go directly to the spreadsheet...? Sound expensive. I will try the spreadsheet again. I like nice and neat. I have good penmanship but having it all organized and the numbers totaled all the time is real nice. And the paper doesnt rip in spreadsheets... no matter how moany times u turn the page. :)

That was a great read! Sometimes in lkrs I will find antique furniture that I am not sure of... So I post it on Cl as "Some kind of Antique furniture". I always get great feedback from savvy antique buyers/dealers. They r always nice and give me a lil lesson on what to look for and how to tell this from that. And they usually tell me what a fair price to start at and where to stop at. The windmill was awesome! I wish I seen the post earlier. I have a big back yard with cool things like that in it. It would have been a great Edition to my So Cal property. I have tried to inventory while going throughout the locker... But man that's hard to do. Well my husband gets so excited and just want to look through everything real quick... Then get it on the truck and get it home. By the time we have the time to dedicate to the lkr it's night time and I'm tired .... So instead of inventorying before. I do it at the time of sale. But Doin it this way, I have a hard time keeping track of the profit/loss per lkr. So instead I just tally up the cost of each lkr by month plus dump, gas, helpers,... And such then subtract that from what I have made for the month... There is my profit for that month. Any suggestions?

eBay / eBay buyer Protection!!!!!
« on: October 19, 2011, 12:16:13 AM »
;D I am so angry with eBay! Ok so last night I went in to my eBay to edit one of my listings. When I was done editing I clicked done... Well I got this big RED blinking notice that I could not proceed with these changes until I give eBay either my credit cRd or debit card number for purposes of protecting the buyer in case of a bad or misleading item that they purchased. In the text of the big blinking RED text it is clearly stated that eBay may take out an undisclosed amount from the card that I HAVE to give them. Then it was further stated that if I do not give them my credit or debit card information they will close my account. Oh and I can change the method of payment if I contact eBay and get their permission!!! What the heck! What person would allow a company access to there account or credit line for an undisclosed amount OC money? I sent them an email to state how angry I am with them. I will update here once I get. Response from them. My account has not been closed! All of my listings r active. I just cant edit any of my listings????

:'( sad to say... I have not had one hit. Dang it. But I still like that u can (sort of) create and then copy a templet with all of ur listings to other selling sights. I have 8 listings on the free classifieds website. The templet that I created, I copied that into a Cl add. Now when someone looks at the add on Cl they also c 8 other items that I am selling with links to each of those items. I think that for someone that has the time to spend with all the dif advertising agents... This is one of the better ones. Oh and just on a side note: eBay sucks really big &%#@! I will be posting about that on the eBay area...

I was in rout. My husband got the unit before I could c it. I think he got caught up in the moment. And he was on the phone with me talking about buying the unit while he was bidding... It got away from him! DOOOOOOOooooooo. I actually still have one antique vanity table that I'm tryin to sell for 200. If I can get rid of that and a few other items I think we will hit about Even by the time we sell the few salvageable items out of it. For example; there was a craftsman cabinet that I sold for 100 a green vintage dresser/cabinet shabby sheik style for 65, a really cool mid century dresser for 125, some recyclables for about 130 I think... Ummm there is this cool bird cage that I can sell for about 100. And then there r about 30 dang baskets that I need to list. And a whole bunch of lil shelf type things. U know how terriers collect random items... Well this was one of Rhodes units. Like we had about 50 keys??? Not old cool keys but mail box and house keys. Most everything in that unit was transformed into something else!!! Oh brother.  ::) I think we will have one last yard sale before the yr is up... We don't want the neighbors gettin all upset cause we r congesting the alley with our buyers.  ;D :P ;) no really we don't. Cause we need to do this all over again next yr if we r gonna survive. Oh yea. The crappiest thing about this unit... There was cactus plants all over the front of the unit. By the time we got done loadin all the garbage up we were crying cause we had so many lil needles in our arms, hands, legs, .... And anywhere else we touched.  ::) thanks for readin this post. Will talk about our latest hunt in a new post. Nothin exciting...at all

Well, about a month ago my husband bid on this locker... We got it. 10 x 30 spent lil over 1000 on it. We lost our butts. Was a drug unit. Bunch of flasks and such. We lost about 400 on that unit. I went to the next auction with him. The unit that we got there... We spent 800 on on this unit. 10 x 30 again. The previous owner was a store owner. We really scored... Or u would think. I have aprox. 3000 scooter accessories. Brand new Disney and looney tunes toys and collectibles. About 80 new ceramic dogs, 3D dog coffee mugs, NASCAR coffee mugs, oh yea and about 600 toy story 2 items that I already sold. We have made our money back on the unit. We still have a large amount of inventory. I have things listed on eBay, craigslist, freebay, and I have my webpage on all of my listings. I have contacted the local sports outlets for the scooter accessories. But only sold a few dozen. I told my husband that we may just need to store the scoter parts till spring. We live in Orange County so u would think that there would be a demand for them most of the time... Ya guess not. Anywho I really like the unit. I c the money sitting there. I get so excited when I think about that money sitting there.... But I can't get ppl to buy... Hmmmm. Thanks for reading. Have a great night. Happy hunting. Sweet dreams.

Thanks for the info everyone. I have researched through google with not much luck. The storage facility that I contacted about where they listed, I was given Very general info about when they do there auctions and then the person hung the phone up on me. I have not asked anyone from the auctions. I will talk to my husband and c if he would be willing to do that. And I will just have to keep contacting all the storage facilities around here to c about there mailing list. Thanks for the feedback. Have a great week!

eBay / Re: Ebay Classifieds
« on: September 05, 2011, 01:25:24 AM »
I have my mass quantity of dog toys listed on there and I sale those. I don't think as many ppl know about eBay classifieds so the turnaround takes a lil longer.
