eBay / Timing is Everything

Do others who sell regularly on eBay notice ups and downs in buyer activity at certain times of year?

Of course, late November and through till mid-December, sales were hot. I've noticed since mid-month that buying has been dead. I expect we'll see a lot of activity starting up again after Christmas, especially from those folks who got money gifts and/or didn't get what they wanted under the tree.

Are there other times of year when you noticed that buyers seem to be buying everything in sight or it's just plain dead?

Greetings, all. I live about 20 miles west of Boston. Have been going to auctions since February or March. Have purchased 16 units so far. I work this business with my brother and a friend of his helps with the heavy lifting.

Sometimes I love furniture since it's a quick transaction to make a good dollar. Then, we'll have too much furniture and I'll start looking out for boxes, especially collectibles. No crazy good finds yet,

I really enjoy the digging and research that's required to learn about the items we find to maximize our returns. For instance, I now know more about pre-prohibition beer bottles than I ever thought I would. The more we learn, the better we'll be able to evaluate storage units at auction.

I started a blog to write about my experiences. It's called storageunitspelunking.blogspot.com.
