New to Storage Auctions? / Preferential Treatment
« on: November 21, 2011, 05:07:17 PM »
What is a 10% buyer's premium? I see this written on all the ads, however, most of them state that the auction will not have a buyer's premium. The last ad I saw said there was a 10% buyers premium and had "management's call" in parenthesis. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

New to Storage Auctions? / City Slicker or Country Bumpkin?
« on: October 19, 2011, 06:21:24 PM »
My dad and I will be going to our first storage auction this Saturday. We live in rural NC and the auction will be held here. We discussed that it might be more advantageous to travel to more populated areas, but still in NC (i.e. Raleigh, Charlotte). I wanted to ask the veterans if they have had better luck in urban areas than in rural areas. It seems that urban areas would have better stuff since the people there have convenient access to bigger, better stores. I would appreciate anyone's advice.
 Thanks - Melissa

Welcome to the Online Storage Auctions Forum / new kid on the block

Hi! I'm Melissa. I have been going to garage sales for years and buying things to resale on Ebay. I just got my teaching license but cannot find job (like most new graduates). My dad and I have decided to try storage auctions. He has been wheelin' and dealin' since the 60's on cars, houses, bikes, etc. Now we want to go in together and try to get storage units.
No, I don't expect to get rich quick like they seem to do on Storage Wars. I just enjoy finding treasures in others' junk! Thanks to the economy, I have nothing better to do anyway.
I'm glad to have found this site. It appears to have valuable information and I look forward to interacting with the people on here!  ;D
