^^^  I know what you mean. Where are these people when I'm trying to sell something?

Of course different states, different laws.
If this happened to me, I would probably visit independent combo gas stations / tobacco outlets and see what could be worked out.
Since I'm not a smoker, I don't know how age and storage conditions would affect cigarettes.

Paid $5 for another unit. Just 2 boxes labeled "clothes."... Don't think I made any money on that unit, the wife kept everything.

If the wife is keeping the clothes and not otherwise clothes shopping, then you made money! ;)

A&E is still running old "Storage Wars" episodes, nothing new in quite a while and no promos for new episodes.

A few years back I was selling a car on Craigs List. Nothing was happening for about a month, then suddenly I was getting calls on it. Turns out people were getting their tax refunds. Sold the car pretty quick once refunds were sent out.

Some people just aren't into hunting, but still want the trophy.

I've never had a ferret, but I've had dogs much of my life, and still do. It's hard when your best friend passes.

.... Therefore, you can charge $40 for it, even if they could easily buy some other brand of plug that is the exact same.
Voltage and power requirements can be matched, it's these @#%* manufactures that come up with the most oddball plug imaginable despite the fact there are dozens of common, easily obtainable plugs already on the market.

^^^ Something to consider. Let's say you bring a big wad of cash with you and you're smart enough not to flaunt it. A sweet locker opens and you bid it sky high, but someone else bids a bit higher. Now the crowd knows you're loaded, but didn't spend it. Watch you're rear view mirror on the way home or go strait to the bank and make a deposit.

^^^  The cash was likely not in the clear plastic bags shown, but one can only imagine if it was as the door was opened if during an auction.
With all the witnesses, the auctioneer would have no choice but to slam the door shut and immediately call the police.  :72:

Could have used more info about how to pay the taxes on the profit.
And I would never invest in precious metals. Over the long term, gold and silver pretty much keeps up with inflation.

Most cities, you can have a home business as long as you don't have regular employees, and you don't have regular business hours, ie. "By appointment only".

If you live in a city / township that is proposing no business at your residence rules, for pitty sakes, get with other like minded residents and fight it!

....I think Dave is only at $7k .. he used to be $60k......

It still boggles my mind they would bring Dave back at any price!
That would be like bring back Charlie Sheen back to Two and a Half Men.
I know it's ratings, but still!

What do you guys do with Cable and Satallete reciever boxes (DVR's, etc)

A Dish Network or Direct TV satellite receiver can have a decent value IF it has an HDMI HD (High Definition) output, it is not a leased unit, and it doesn't have an unpaid balance. You have to call Dish or Direct and give the serial number to find if it can be subscribed. The older SD (Standard Definition) receivers are pretty much electronic scrap. If it doesn't have an HDMI output, it is SD.

Check eBay completed sales for going prices.

If they aren't outdated, or too far past date, sell in bulk to a flea market vendor.
I see this stuff all the time at the flea markets in the dollar bins.
