Good work on the guide Maj.  All it needs is some polish to make it easier to read.  I do have an issue also to #6.  I agree that you have to treat this like a job, even if you do it as a hobby like myself.  Doing it part-time or fulltime doesn't matter IMO.  Number 4 is true also but I'd take out the old people comment.  Most of our old time regulars are retired guys that do this to stay busy.  It's true they can't life or move the heavy items.  But, that is why they have contacts and/or people to do it for them for free/pay/trade.

Dandy is right on #12.  I've been lucky and only found a few porn items.  I find mostly normal sex related items like rubbers, birth control pills/boxes, and then baby pictures :).  Of course I'm like well if you had used this (condoms + pills) - you wouldn't of ended up with that (pointing to pics).

Old timers also have sons and grandsons to do the heavy lifting. My 17 yr old grandson and his friend will move out a full 20 x 20 for a $25 gas card each.

thought I had seen that guy before. I'm in atl also. but I like the way he does auctions. He calls it the texas style line up and walk by. I you want to see it again get back in line. And like they say the last bid is the only one that counts. With the big crowds that's the only way to go.

how long before we see some of this stuff on pawn stars. already seen the breath tester there. I guess some props aren't that cheap

Storage Auctioneers / Re: Banning a bidder from an auction ?

We have 4 people here in Memphis that has been banned the last month or two.
Basicly because of false bidding and not cleaning out lockers after winning.

auctions today the deposits are now $100. People not finding the treasure and leaving the trash.

Went on the Public run today.  It's a sad day when I bid $1600 on a locker, and I'm THIRD Bidder!  Ouch.  Ended up going for $1900.

Bid $1100 on another one, and I was FOURTH on that one, it went for $1750!

Even the small one I bid on and thought I had for $500 ended up going for $550!  It just wasn't meant to be today I guess.

Lot's of auctions tomorrow, so I'm going to try to go to one off the beaten path and hope for the best.

Crowds are still large, although I think they have peaked and are starting to drop some.  Still too many, but at least there is some hope!  Prices are still way high on most of the units though.
if ya don't mind my asking what part of the country are you in.

I'm guessing north with the laying on of hands.

I can do this I was raised Pentecostal.

I was at a storage auction a few weeks ago and this lady fell and broke her leg.  We are talking bone sticking out of skin here folks...  Thats not the crazy part, the auctioneer (who started the auction off with a very intense prayer) came over and layed hands on this woman and began literally screaming for God to "Heal this lady!!!".  She didn't get up and walk, but the auction did go on.
north or south Georgia?

to the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump. to the dummmmp dummmp dump. At least in my county the $20 fee gets you the help of county convicts to help unload.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Hello everyone. Im new here.

A simple Google search of this member's name reveals he/she joined a half dozen or more forums on March 24, 2011. I checked a number of them and he has either no posts or 1 post on each.

While the forums represent a number of interests, BODYBUILDING is one that stood out in my mind.

If this member is a person genuinely interested in storage auctions, I guess we will know soon enough.

Jezz please let me know if I offend you in anyway. But its cool that you though to do that. Me never

That far huh. I wish. I'm south of Atl. GA and most of my auction runs equal. At least a 90 mile day. Still good luck

Other Forms of Selling / Re: Cell phones

I sell at the flea market. If I throw it out you know it's trash. These are 2 nokia and a samsung. The kind you buy at the gas station. Opp just got rid of one. My 6 year old ask if he could have it. The others get a $5 sticker for flea market. Last week had a sprint push to talk marked $10 guys ask if I would take $5. I say I'll take $15. He hands over $10 and says that's a good deal.  I watch the old man on pawn stars. If you have never done flea market sales it is so much fun.
