Update on my hoarders unit from a while back. I just sold the cpap machine for 200. Remember I paid 90 for the unit and have now made over 300. I say thats not to bad for a trash unit lol.

Garage Sales / Another garage sale
« on: October 01, 2011, 08:54:29 PM »
So we just had another sale this weekend and friday was a total bust. Not one sale but tuns of lookers. Today sold only bout 70 worth of items. Unfortunately those items were the ones I bought at garage sales and sold for a 50% profit ( dang cheapos) going to have a last yard sale and literally post everywhere within 10 miles and craigslist and stores and everything. The inventory must go before I can buy more. must get shed ready for the snow or I be in big trouble lol. Might just make fliers and put them in mail boxs as im dirbing down the road hehe perfect way to get it advertised.

The "Other" Job / Re: Farm hand

I do do what I have to do to get by. Being crapped on by a cow isnt so bad as its mostly hay and grain. Being peed on well it sprays and its just not worth it.

Thanks for the tip movieman I didnt think to do a general search.

Well after a week of working as a milker I quit after being crapped on 2 times and today I got a golden shower from a cow I hope I eat as a big fat juicy steak.

But I also applied for another job and got an interview tomorrow. But I also had a question. The job is cleaning out forclosed and evicted homes. The question is is can you keep anything of value in there... Say furniture antiques jewelry or any of the such? Just thinking if i get this job its good pay coupled with being able to resell what I can find would be great. Anyone got any experience in this area or can give me an idea?

I went to I think it was three auctions 2 silent bid 1 live bid on about 12 then on my 4th auction bid a little high on a silent but still way below retail and won it. Take your time when its your time to get a lkr you will.

Ok so before I didnt have a job but my pops pressuref me into getting one. Well I work for a milk farm and I got probably the dirtiest job eben more dirtier then storage auctions. I am a milker. I stand behind the cows clean the utters put the sucking machine on there utters and get crapped on in the process. Its a crap job literally but its a job to pay bills and get me some more money faster to buy more units.
Best part is is my boss actually used to do storage auctions. So hes cutting me a brake when ineed a day off to get them plus letting me switch shifts when I need to for auctions.

This business isnt as secretative as you think. We try to help each other out best we can. Yeah we each have our own secret facility we might have that we wont tell our competition but overall we try tohelp each other as best we can.

Now I have to agree with craiglstauction. Newspapers newspapers newspapers. Some you can find in the online paper websites. But since I know your area as i went to college in Pa you shouldnt have a problem finding them as you got a few states within reasonable distance. For me I use storageunitauctionlist.com only for the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere and to get all the localpapers I would spend more in gas amd buying them. The site is 20 a month. Updated atleast 3-4 times a month also.

Hope this helps

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: I know there is ......

Try having a weekday yard  sale? Less competition of others sales plus if advertised enough you could sell and make a bit of money.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Selling storage treasures
« on: September 25, 2011, 07:12:17 AM »
Well BigBizz furniture I have a guy that will pay me a fair value for them out of the unit and I dont even have to store it. All he does is make aquick profit on it by selling it to another guy who sells it above retail. The only furniture im going to store is antiques but even then those are slowing down where I live. But I think from now on its just going to be things I know I can turn fo rt a quick profit if I get more then great if not then ay least I made a few dollars.

Big stuff is sold the smalls and small valuable items people wont buy. Hell I was offeref 5 dollars for a craftsman ratchet when its marked 15. I told the guy to hit the road that im not stupid or that desperate. It happens like that all the time. Like I said I got buyers for about 90% of my items just the other10% is what gets me that I need to  sell to make a good profit. Hate to say this acman but from now on its either tool units or good lookin furniture units and thats it.

As for the economy up here... No one has jobs and those that do dont want to part with there money. Remember most towns up here are farming based communities.

So acman where is your sweet spot or honey hole at? Or do I just got to go to auctions down by your way to find out?

Grats knoxie. You know up by me the most ive seen is maybe 20 the least is 4 maybe its just the area that the auctions are in that determines the amount of people that will be there.
