beauzero sounds like you are doing well.

Storage buying is like going to school always learning something about the stuff you find.

How do you like the OTA? Was thinking of setting a system up for OTA

Bought antenna from flea for $65. Like it better than satellite. Cheaper too.  ;)  Has remote for rotary movement.

We were able to get channel 2 NBC during the Olympics. but once again the channel is gone. Has always been bad in our area with OTA.

I love we get 3 different PBS stations.  The regular one (sesame street, and no I don't watch  ;) ). Local Government based meetings, and documentary's, Then the PBS World love that station

The Spanish channels are fun too.  :D

Well Tinchohs sounds like an interesting project.

most of the other members have covered the basics.

I can throw a few Why people store stuff.

1) After a major weather event ie: hurricane, flooding, tornado. have to salvage what they can and stick in storage. May never fully recover from the loss and loose the storage.

2) beauzero "they can't add"  Did not think they were going to get evicted from their house/apartment. So move fast can store everything cheap and move back in with parents. And just like their house/apartment rent can't pay the storage rent.

3) then the mental side. Personal experience. Sister went through a terrible divorce. There was a 10 page list of what she could not take out of the house she lived in for 20 years. Add on top of that she was battling a mental disease. I had to help put what she wanted into storage. It was just shut up and put it in the truck. It helped her cope. Now the stuff has been in storage for 4 years. Not worth what she has paid for it.  The mental thing is a lot better' but now it is financially hard to go clean it out. I will add too she is an artist, so a lot of personal possessions.

4) My aunt is a hoarder had a unit for 15 years. She did not loose it but I saw what she got out of it a bunch of junk and she thinks it is worth what she paid for it years ago.

Just some insight of why people rent storage lockers.

Good luck with your research.

Got back a few days ago.. Still trying to adjust to the weather.... Main was nice and cool low humidity...

Had a nice time. My sister got married on top of a mountain.

Oh and there are no fish in Main  :(  We gave it a good try though.

Did hit three junk/antique/thrift stores....Never saw so much wicker in my life, and I live in Florida.  :D

Two of the shops were so outrageously priced was scared to touch anything. Did pick up three post cards for a dollar. The last place was pretty cool nice prices no treasures I could carry home, but fun looking.
The pricy stores were in the rich side of the island, million airs and billion airs.. Only ones that could afford their stuff. One wicker chair was $1200. Guy said he had more in storage I can see why.

My sister laughed at me as I got a kick out of seeing chipmunks. (they are not in Fl.)

Anyway trying to catch up does not look like I have missed much.  ;)

Was hoping to have a yard sale before school returned but have missed that.  Have to get the feel for things and try and make a plan.  ::)   ;D

Stores / Re: Booth space versus full store - I bit the bullet

The K-mart in our area closed its doors a couple of months ago. The Liquidation Sale was not all that much of a big deal. It was almost like they marked up the prices to mark them down -  ??? Total waste of time IMHO...

I am surprised ours is still open.. One on the other side of town closed down. Not sure when..

I don't get out much.... LOL

Sounds like a big improvement over the old place... I still have not bit the bullet.... Too much for space $2.00..sq.' and the only spaces they have are 100 sq' or more.... ::)

Really like the layaway plan... That should boost some sales.  I think people will spend more if they can pay it over time. Has worked for K-Mart for years...  ;D

Hope it all works out.

Wow, people are dumb. I just checked and it's up to $460 with 26 hours still left until bids close.

Hey !!!!!

Didn't say I would bid that high just what it will go for. LOL

42
Guess $450....

Exercise equipment all over the place here... Too heavy and a pain to move for me to be interested in dealing with.  But hey it has a cup holder for that extra large soda that are being banned in NY.... LOL

Thanks Guys...

@Movieman... Will be camping, hiking, and fishing... Plus rest of the family will be there... So think I will make it a pure vacation....  ;D

Sure I will hit some of the thrift stores there, and if I see an estate sale... and hope I don't find a deal I can't pass up. LOL

Not sure of the value, but the lady gave them to me for free, all I had to do was load them

Free is always good. Recent research on older patterns on ebay show a nice return. $3 or $4 each easy shipping of $1 or so. Might try etsy too.

(research for a theme wedding) Little house on the prairie style.  ::)

good luck.

Hey guys and gals.... Sorry been out of the forum.... Not like you guys missed me are anything.... :P

Have had some family medical issues. My Aunt has been in the hospital for almost two weeks. Her husband fell and broke his arm and injured his leg... (they live across the street so I have been playing nurse maid and farm helper).  Aunt went home to son's house (he lives close to the hospital just in case) the injured husband is as stubborn as a mule so he is doing better.  They are both in their 70's.    ::)

I will be leaving next week for a wedding in Main... Bought cheaper tickets so I have to be up there for a week.  Poor Me... LOL

Sounds like things are looking better on the auction scene hopefully can get back in when I get back and things settle down here.
