Garage Sales / Re: Nobody has garage sales on Wednesdays...........
« on: November 03, 2012, 07:40:44 PM »
I don't even look at the yard sale schedule until Thursday night, so a yard sale on Wednesday would be missed by me, and I'm thinking most people are like that. You'd have to do some pretty big advertising to get any kind of crowd. Here in San Antonio, Fridays are good for people just looking to get rid of things, because resellers (like me!) are out in force. Saturdays are a bit more casual and early in the day, prices can start higher.

Reality Shows about Storage Auctions / Re: Storage Wars

I love this one. Maybe because we've been following the same people around and I feel like I'm really getting to know them. I love how Brandy is getting prettier each season that passes hehe. Their relationship is fun because it seems pretty real. Darrell lately is sort of annoying, because he's trying to pretend like there is this great drama between him and his son, but it's just not believable. I don't know what's happening with Dave... seems like he overextended and got in trouble. And who can't love Barry. Everyone knows an eccentric old man like him!

Reality Shows about Storage Auctions / Re: Auction Hunters

I've read that that one is pretty staged. First, they go all around the country to storage auctions, and they probably are going to one every day. Can you imagine how much footage is on the cutting room floor? If you went to auctions every day and bought 2-3 lockers every day, you'd find some good stuff too in the process of 3 months. :D

I've watched it a few times. You'd think. living in San Antonio, I'd like it, but I feel they are pretty campy. I hope everyone doesn't think that's what all Texas are like! Although... some are. :D

eBay / Re: UPS, eBay and PayPal changes
« on: November 02, 2012, 04:27:44 PM »
That's strange, I didn't get anything about UPS changes. Wonder what gives?

I have only used UPS for very large items, like framed posters. They are significantly cheaper than USPS when it gets to be an oversized item (over 84 inches in the length plus girth calculation). Thankfully, I don't have to send those often. USPS is definitely cheaper for me and especially now that I'm a Top Seller on eBay, it comes out to a buck or two cheaper to ship Priority than Parcel if the item is 2 lbs or less.

I'd be curious to know why UPS is doing this.
