So had a unit full of product worth serious $$$$ and i had the high bid all week long so called the facility 3 hours before auction ended to verify the address and they tell me that there is a problem with the account for the unit im bidding on. I asked if the owner of the unit paid they said no and removed it right then. Maybe i always think the worst in people but a unit worth a ton of money selling for pennies on the dollar i assume the owner of the facility wanted it for himself.  :41:

The Treasure Chest / Most unusual sale yet!
« on: January 31, 2015, 02:23:27 PM »
So I awoke to a call Thursday morning by a lady who bought a vintage 1980's Alf sweatshirt, she wanted it mailed overnight to her workplace. Come to find out she is a famous costume designer worked on movies like Spiderman. The sweat shirt needed to be mailed to Saturday Night Live for a skit on Tonight. I don't know which actor but he wears a size small and its a white sweat shirt with Alf on front and it says ALF above his image and No Problem next to him just in case you are watching tonight.   ;)

Sorry if this is not in the right topic list, wasn't sure where to post this one.

« on: February 03, 2014, 01:14:50 PM »
Purchased a 10x15 last month for $300. The unit was filled with mostly junk but i could tell it was stuff from an older persons home so i grabbed it. Im glad i did in a drawer was a bag filled with medals from WW2 two of them are solid gold others are sterling. The soldier was a Major in the Marines and the one medal is very rare and weighs in at an 31 grams of solid 14k gold. I sold it on ebay for $1200.

« on: February 06, 2013, 08:26:28 PM »
I have found relatives and pet cremated remains on multiple occasions and will return them if possible. The other month however I found cremated remains with no id on them but they had medals all over the urn from military service and im not sure what unit they came from. The box was burried in the back and could be from 20+ units. What would you do with them?????

The Treasure Chest / My best unit in 2012
« on: December 20, 2012, 09:28:45 AM »
Went to a silent auction in may 2012 and piked up a locker for $850. It was a 10x20 and was packed full, so you could only see the boxes in front. From first glance it didnt look special, just ceiling high piled boxes, but i did notice a sterling silver spoon and could see the edge of an antique fire hydrant so i took a stab at it. WOW what a locker. Had 4 large rubbermaids of costume jewelry going back to 1940's, antiques galore and collectibles to name a few Coca cola trays 1930's batman and robin banks 1960's, snoopy, rocky bullwinkle, hubley cars, dinky toys, 3 pounds sterling silver, two handfuls gold jewlery, Harley Davidson items, 1960's and 70's Hess trucks, $58 in pennies yeah pennies, antique china "stored in backpacks, so 10 pieces were broke, why o why", and the list could continue for three more paragraphs. All in all I earned over $30,000 and still have alot of stuff. OH forgot the best item a 1968 Omega watch known as the moon watch due to it being worn by the crew on first moon landing actual model i have is same one worn by Apollo 13 crew, has a special seal in back for space and crystal front is actually special plastic so it doesn't shatter in space and get glass shards everywhere. The retail value is $5 - $6 K.
