Just watched an episode that I think aired last week, but I'll review it in a minute anyway.
Right now the new episode is starting (followed by the 2nd edition of "unlocked") so I'll be back in about an hour ! ;D

OK, "unlocked" is ending and I can't bring myself to go back and review the 2 shows that ran before it, but as usual the drama was there and some good things were found, BUT the show seems to be getting more honest in its approach.
Now the show is ending and they are doing a profit analysis...I'll re-run that and give you the results...pretty interesting.
Jarrod and Brandi...............spent.....$7,790........profit was $23, 644...for every dollar they spent they made....$3.04
Barry................................spent .....$11,653....profit was...$36,290...for every dollar he spent he made..........$3.12
Darrell...............................spent.....$8,245......profit was....$29,908..for every dollar he spent he made..........$3.63
Dave (boo, hiss !)................spent.....$20,960....profit was....$144,249...for every dollar he spent he made........$6.88
OK, a new way to enjoy math....I'll have to work mine out !
To finish, Dotson auctions off a Harley Peace Officer bike....Darrell gets it for $12K....Barry knocks over his mysterious briefcase !

Sooner or later if you do this enough you won't find a dead body, but you'll find urns of ashes. I think I've found 3.
Most funeral homes will take them off your hands if they can't be returned to the relative who LOST his/her locker.

That ROI looks about right to me, but a word of caution for the new folks, that does'nt take out all the expenses (fuel, labor, dump run, sales fees, etc.) or income taxes.

Or buying a locker just to buy it. These guys are pretty good at finding decent units. There's a lot of losers out there, as well.
I appreciated the comment about all the work involved in doing these units.

Well, those figures are nice and 3 of the 4 are running in the same $3 plus area, but in the almost eight years I've been doing this, the BEST I did (year end figures) was 2.74 x the money and right now I'm running at 1.72 x the money.
Guess I need to find better stuff ! ;)

I laughed also on Hester's 'I grossed over one million dollars last year', like that should immediately have them build him an alter and begin worshiping him, until Daryl pointed out the reality that gross doesn't mean anything, and asked how much he netted. Hester never answered that.

Well, considering the size of his biz, (workers, store size, auction site) It wouldn't be surprising that he did that much...but I can't blame him for not telling what his net was; even though he is a big self promoter no businessman worth his salt would reveal his bottom line. I would have felt better if HE had said as much.
The "live" aspect of the "unlocked" show comes through a bit, but it's not really live as far as I can tell, and EDITING is a producer's way of making things seem one way or the other. While the conversation and reactions seem a little more candid than the shows themselves, none of these people is so foolish to shoot themselves in the foot TOO much. Their success is dependent on the show's success despite the fact that "outside" the show they still have day to day businesses to run. The show has helped them all significantly one way or the other. This is all my opinion.

Nothing noteworthy in any of their lockers. They were tryig to break even and didn't make it....REALITY TV !

These numbers are all based on what they claim they can get for what they bought. They showed some of Dave auctions and there were plenty of the lights that he bought and has not sold yet sitting on his shelfs. Did he sell all his vending machines and get what he told us he would get for them. Barry keeps most of his stuff so how much did he really make ?

That's the thing...they're not even SHOWING the real drama. Instead, they keep playing re-runs but what people don't know is Jarrod knocked Dave out and he threatened to sue the show. I've seen upcoming previews for the new season and Dave is still in there so my assumption is Dave got a lot of money to keep his mouth shut! That would definitely explain the hiatus between new episodes...I really don't know if that's the explanation; but I definitely am tired of all the re-runs. Thanks, Dave, for being a crybaby. :'(

The crew is up to their usual antics....nothing terribly memorable in either show.
Jarrod goes head to head with Darrel over 4 lockers previously owned by the the same owner. J...gets 3, D gets 1....tune in to reruns for the final results.

The UNUSUAL thing tonight was the SW guys were directly up against Auction Hunters on another channel.
AH was offering a $50,000 prize of some kind...guess they thought that would pull people from SW to their side.
Tell you what...if any member here actually wins that money they can send each of the current members here a PayPal payment of $25....share the goodies ! ;D

The reason for the hiatus is season one is over. Just like any other show on tv you have to wait for season 2 to be taped.

Two new episodes tonight...so far Barry has bought one for $100 (might have a nice old brass telescope).
Now he's bidding on one and is up to around $900...Darrell thinks he is nuts.

Two shows back to back Barry buys the locker based on seeing an old trunk. Most I've found have been empty or with nothing of special value...maybe a quilt made in China by a machine !
Locker #4 coming up....looks great with antiques and other desirables.

Barry finds a 1950's TETHER CAR and makes $6K profit ! (what are the odds...1,000,000 to 1 unless a producer helps you out).

OK, the producers must have felt sorry for all the losers Barry has bought over the last year or so. He came away this time with a $2.5K profit from a flourite carved head that lights up. Funniest part though...he drops the base on the top of the glass display case at a dealer's place and cracks the glass !

Jarrod and Brandi find a visible safe in their lkr..neither had seen it; THEN…
Jarrod finds….another SAFE ! (2nd time my two safes in 1 lkr theory has come through).
Dave’s estimates of his item values are off the wall ($300 to $500 for two networking items…they often don’t sell because they’re outdated by the time they see light of day).
Derrel…likes his for value...fancy old trunk ….inside NADA ! Cigar Humidor (bet even the cigars are still good!). Humidor worth…..$1,300 up !
Jarrod’s small safe….coins. Locksmith for big safe…he drills it out just like my guy did a couple of months ago. (back for the reveal)…AFTER THE COMMERCIAL!
J’s big safe…..incredible…actual gold coins, some from old ships (Spanish Reals). I had to smile for the couple they were having such a good time ! Coin guy estimates $3,500 plus for the balance of coins (J. already sold $800 worth).
Hester has an accident…LOOKED STAGED !

I don't think it was staged. The cameraman was way out of position. Had to run around the truck and adjust his filters to get it on film.
I think if it was staged, the camera would've been at the ready to catch the whole thing.

The accident in question was away from the auction site. As Hester was getting out of his truck to have an item appraised, he dropped it and jacked-up the lid. MovieMan said it looked staged and I disagreed.

J and B open the $3300 lkr…and see….items they over-value. Last chest of drawers…what a surprise…they find something of value in one of the drawers…give me a storage wars BREAK !
