Title: Storage Wars New York
Post by: Travis on November 30, 2012, 08:34:57 PM
A year or so ago, I remember they were casting for Storage Wars New York. Has anyone heard anything more about whether the producers are following through with this show?

It doesn't make sense. I haven't seen a commercial for Storage Wars New York. However, it would explain why Storage Wars Texas was moved to Sunday night. Perhaps we will see some commercials this Sunday, if not, something is up because they normally start advertising new series a month in advance. This one is scheduled to premier on December 11th.

my 2 cents is prices go higher , but not as high as they were at the peak and taper off in several months possibly 3 in the rest of the country im guessing around june or july next year for me

fyi keep your eye on the size of the rooms if everyones buying 10x20 and 10x30 every week im calling bs
rooms around here tend to run smaller 5x5 5x10 and 10x10 being the norm and there have been days where i can go through an entire public caravan see 30-50 rooms and never see anything bigger than a 10x10

This looks like a train wreck. If I wanted to watch a bad episode of Jersey Shore I would turn on MTV.

So how do you guys from the NY area think this show is going to effect your business?
Title: Re: Storage Wars New York
Post by: fredgsanford on December 26, 2012, 05:12:24 PM
not good , I dont think the effects will last too long though should taper off somewhere between march and june i think (or hope)

ny is a screwy marketplace to begin with there are so many people in such a small area
and to add to that there are  tons of immigrants who can hustle like nobodys business here to boot

before the auction shows started it wasnt uncommon to see 5x5s for 2 3 and 4 hundred and 10 x10s 1000 + and 30- 50 people at some auctions

many folks who wanted to try their hand at it already came and went , but with this many people in this small an area the new show will bring out more for sure

ny all 5 bouroghs/counties  has a population roughly equivilant to the population of los angeles ,chicago and houston combined on a series of islands that land wise is half the size of houston

if you add in the surrounding counties there are another 4 or 5 million people around

this is a 25 mile radius from new york city , in other words 50 miles straight across the shaded circle  the population in the circle is somewhere around 13 million people

Well, it was better than I expected so I won't make fun of the show...well maybe just a little.

That's got to be really expensive taking a cab to auctions...especially if you go home empty handed.

wife says she has never seen so many B**ch A** crybaby guys in her life. In her opinion she said they do nothing but whine about everything. :'

She is right, every reality show out there has focused on drama.Last SW season ended with Darrel acting pissed off at his own kid, and look at the number of shows that they provoke Hester . How often does that happen at a real auction? Or the fights on the other shows.
After Hesters breaking news story there is no point in even watching these shows.  SW new York is no different from the rest

I have two friends in NY.  Neither has a car.  Cab or train.  Says gas & parking is more expensive than cab rides in the end.   Then, one is paying $2200/month for a 500sq/ft studio so maybe "expensive" has a different meaning there.......

............

I watched two episodes On Demand.   If you fast forward thru opening, talking, interview, commercials.......you can blow thru an episode in 8 minutes.

Just like every episode of Storage Wars, you know it's about to go to commercial whenever someone finds something good.

TRUE! Sad when the commericals are better than the show! The women are horrable  looking so I choose to watch on a tv screen covered with dust. No lie

Well for crying out loud, you've kept Mike here all week. How is he supposed to be here and film new episodes at the same time. It's your fault that we don't have anything entertaining to watch tonight!  :D

Adrian Cronauer: Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.
