Sometimes jumping the starting bid up like that works.  Many times in my area it doesn't.  Only once have I seen one of the regulars who did that get stuck with the unit and loose money.

Last year $50 was sort of the gambling price for just about any trash looking lockers.  This year even those trash lockers are brining in $100 - $150.  I still open or jump the bid to $50 and wait and see.  Win some and loose many.

Things that suck -- driving 40 miles to a small town facility that didn't post a phone # to find 6 people and only 1 out of 8 units.  Sucked was the 1 locker only containing a pile of moldy cloths up next to one wall.  Just the name of the game, but dang I was disappointed.
