Hey guys,
Just a quick question. Its probably a dumb question but I couldn't fin it in the search tool. Im going to a caravan on Wednesday and I don't have a truck. But if I buy a large unit with alot of inventory is it acceptable to believe that the facility will let me rent the unit to keep the stuff there? Or is that a no-no?

Any help in this matter would be appreciated thanks

Some will rent to you if they do not have a waiting list for the space.

Some will also give you a few extra days if you ask and are willing to pay something. Your best bet would be to ask at the office before the auction starts and bid accordingly.

Like the others said it all depends on the facility.  If it's a popular spot and they are full then normally there is a waiting list and they want you to clean it out ASAP.  Those places are few and far between.  If they are not full they will gladly rent you the locker for a month or more.

Your other option is to see if they will give you a few extra days.  Normally if it's a large packed unit, or you buy multiple units and ask nicely they will.  Specially if you have purchased from them before and they know you clean your units well.

Instead of renting for a whole month some places will let you rent for like a week or two.

Myself - I keep toying with the idea of renting a 5x10 or so at one of the many places I buy from.  Not really for the storage but to use their dumpsters and to sell CL items from.

As most said, simply ask before bidding.  Here in Tucson we have quite a few that are willing to rent on a daily basis.  That could get costly if you can't get it cleared out in an extra day or two, but if you can.....works great!

Also talk with the managers.  We had one guy who said we could take a couple extra days if we hauled off an old twin mattress for him~ended up not needing the extra time, but for Dave (the facility manager) there was room on the trailer and a dump run on the schedule any way~
