Has anyone made a good score in the restaurant equipment area?

I got a Volcan gas 6 burner with 3x2 half griddle/half grill and two ovens for $400.

It was dirty as heck but cleaned up nice.  Needed $200 in parts to get working.

Hooked it up outback of my friends house.  He had a bricklayer build a enclosure for it.  Awesome BBQ pit.
Not really a score tho since he gave me $500 down and never paid another dime.  So I lost $100.  :-[

Kinda funny you mention this since just yesterday I went to an friends (for lack of better term when you know the owner well, but we arent friend friends...?)  resturant looking to see if he's ready to expand or upgrade.    Got a line on several resturant auction coming up.
Trying to make a deal or at least a finders fee of keep eating free.....

Nope - I've bid on a few stainless steel tables and things of that nature but have always gotten outbid.  The few times units of that nature have come up for auction they for 1000s.
