Title: Internet Email Scam #1,231,785
Post by: MovieMan on May 18, 2013, 06:49:12 AM
Here's a cut and paste of an email I received; how does anyone get taken in by something like this?

Contact western Union now

I have deposited the check as we agreed with western Union. All you have to do is to contact them at:- ([email protected]) they will give you direction on how you will be receiving the funds daily.

My agreement with them is $4,500 USD two time daily until the whole of $2.5USD is transferred. You are not expected to pay for the transfer charge as that will be deducted from the funds once the remittance is done.

send the below information to them:

Receiver name: _________
Country:__________
Mobile Phone:________

The only fee you will send to them before the transfer is $75.00 USD for paper work and remittance. E-mail them with above address, the contact person is Rev.Lawrence Thomson , with phone number:- +229 9941 5816

Thank you.

There is a certain percentage of the population that is just plain stupid.

Some people are book smart yet have no common sense.

They take advantage of the elderly.

I knew a guy once, very smart MBA, successful, then he lost his job, and then lost another job, then lost his house and most possessions, this guy was 45 and never lost at anything in his life! Not long after he started falling for every get quick scheme in the book. I would try to talk sense into him but he would only remind me of his prep school, cum laude, MBA, corporate experience and I didn't understand the complexities of these investments. Total train wreck and I had to walk away. So yeah, desperate people, even educated and experienced can fall for this crap, so imagine people on the bottom half of the bell curve.
