Title: Package lost
Post by: Alias300 on December 10, 2013, 01:31:59 PM
Shipped out a package USPS 2-day priority flate rate.   It's been six days and tracking still just says it has left my local facility.

I don't really care. It was just some stuff for my sister.  Doesn't matter when it arrives.  However, I went with priority over standard at a greater cost so a bit upset.

So I'm at the post office and mention it, give tracking number, just inquiring.
Lady gets attitude and says "well, are you sure you put the right address?"

"Ummm.....ma'am?  Doesn't matter what address I put.  The point is that you can't tell me where it is"

"It's going to Dallas?  They've had a lot of bad weather so deliveries re behind"

"Oh, cool.  So its in Dallas waiting to go out?

"I dont know.   All I see is it left his facility last week"

"So your blaming the weather in Dallas.  But you don't know if it is even IN Dallas?"

"Is there anything else I can help you with?"

"F**k it.  What holiday stamps you have?"

Sometimes you just gotta know when you beat.  You can't argue with stupid.

They really aren't helpful in the post office facility. On the phone, they try.. but the systems just suck, which is par for the course being that they're a government entity. One thing I had happen with myself and an Ebay sale is that the package shows as not delivered, but they TRIED to deliver but couldn't leave it at the house. They posted a pick up notice but the wind blew it away or something. The recipient never knew that it was waiting for them. About 6 weeks later I get it back with a "abandoned" stamp. Tracking never showed it past my town.

I ordered something on November 30 and it shipped out by 2-day priority mail on December 2nd. It still hasn't gotten here and tracking still shows an estimated delivery date of December 4th...six days ago. :)

It has also been processed TWICE at my local sort facility yesterday on the 9th. I think between the storms and Christmas mailing, that all shippers are just maxed out.
