I thought Travis was the biggest thing in Texas until I saw a feature on the CBS Sunday Morning Show...
...turns out you can get a FREE 72 oz Steak at the link below....IF you can eat it in one hour.
After checking out their website, look on the left of the screen for the list of people who have actually eaten a 72 oz steak in an hour....OR LESS !

Don't quote me, but I think I remember a TV show about the restaurant and the record holder for finishing the steak in the quickest time is a Bengal tiger!

We actually CAN quote you as the CBS show also showed a pic of the tiger...I think he ate it in 9 seconds or something!
A human being finished a steak in 8+ minutes. Needless to say the number of people who tried and "failed" is far greater than the list who succeeded dating back to 1965. Heck, it's only 6 pounds of steak ! I'll stick with the 12oz size.
The website even has two web cams where you can watch this event LIVE !

I've been tuning into their webcams for years. I like to watch how people are so gung ho when they first start eating and then start getting those uh oh looks on their faces half way through. FYI, it's not just the steak but the rest of the meal (veggies) has to be eaten as well. The 8.52 minute record holder is world eating champion Joey Chestnut. He's won the Nathan's hot dog eating contest something like 7 times.
