What do you think about Phil Robertson getting kicked off Duck Dynasty?

All I've read is the excerpts from GQ article, not the article itself.   But from the very little I know I don't see what the fuss is about.    He said he doesn't judge homosexuals, just doesn't understand the attraction to men and that its against his beliefs.   

He has a right to his beliefs.  Right to his religion. Right to free speech.   

But its not like A&E wasn't fully aware of his views.  So by getting rid of him from show they are saying "We are okay with his views....as long as he doesn't say them".   Who's worse?  Him or A&E?    At least he has beliefs based on family and compassion.  A&E only believe's in money......which I believe is a sin, right? 

I'll have to track down the article and see what exactly he said.

I think this is a huge publicity stunt. It's the most watched show on TV...there is NO way A&E would remove a cast member and break up the chemistry. Even if it isn't a publicity stunt, I give it a week or so before the public outcry and the threat of the Robertson family quitting the show brings A&E to their knees.

Besides, call it a hunch, but I don't think Phil's comments have offended any of the Duck Dynasty fan base. 

This action by A&E is what makes people hates gays more than anything gays do.

I am not a religious person, I don't go to church but I think most television shows have gotten out of hand. Duck Dynasty is one of the few shows on today that has morals and family values. Most of the current shows are all about sex, lying and cheating. Other stars have said a lot worse with no consequences. America is supposed to be about freedom. I am currently boycotting A & E because of this ridiculous move. We watch a lot of their programming and I will miss it but it is my freedom to make this choice.

I think he has the right to say whatever he wants, but on the other hand, if you want to keep sucking off the corporate tit making those millions and millions of dollars along with all the hundreds of related product tied to the show, learn to filter it a little bit!

I completely disagree with what he said in the interview, but I believe people should be able to say what they think.  I choose not to watch the show but I think anyone who does should be able to since the show is not nearly as offensive as some of the others on TV.

In the long run this should be a boon for Duck Dynasty.

It would be nice to be in their position business wise.   They have a net worth of over $400million.  $200million being from show and merchandising.   They can walk and still be set for life just as they were before the show.    They still have the hunting show, Duck Commander, Buck Commandeer, a restaurant........   And their contract is up in a year so they can continue on another network.      I'd tell A&E to go f**k themselves.    They can go live happy, happy, happy without them.

I don't have a problem with what he said. I don't see the big deal in it. I don't think gay people really care either. As far as A&E cutting him from the show, I don't think they should have done that either. They're afraid of losing sponsors, when most gays probably don't watch the show anyway. If anything their ratings would have gone up with the "scandal".

A&E and all networks for that matter have to have more of a backbone to these advertisers.
