Title: Why don't members here answer poll questions?
Post by: MovieMan on March 24, 2013, 09:27:26 AM
Over the last two years I've posed maybe 4 polls and several other polls were placed during that time as well by other members or administators.

Generally none of the polls has generated more than about 6 votes, though in March, 2013 one of them came up with 11 or so.

Considering there are roughly 3,000 members here one would think a poll could generate 30 votes at least...that's only 1%, but since roughly 2,900 people don't even post messages it should be no surprise that votes don't get cast either.

im thinking that the majority of the people that come in and look around do so infrequently ,they may miss the polls completely if its been more than a day or 2 since it was posted

I chose Other because for me the way poll questions are usually worded exclude a correct reply from me.

people,in general are apathetic,so unless they can see immediate benefit to them ,they don't participate... god knows they will TAKE , yet barely "give" any info..I can't tell you how many smug idiots I've met that refuse to give up any Big Secrets they may have ( which usually aren't that secretive at all).... very few grasp the concept of enlarging their network nor the benefits of "mentoring"..o well.if ya don't wanna improve your business, you're just a dumbass

Agree with Alloro. Typically with any poll, the answers are pigeon-holed to get the answers the pollster wants. That's generally speaking. But, what I've seen here, the polls are worded much better, which is why I've participated  ;)
