Title: Notice of sale in the paper or online..
Post by: Jumpinomega on September 04, 2011, 06:47:00 PM
My husband and I have been buying storage units for about 8 months now. We r having a difficult time find the News Papers that the "Notice of sale" is listed. I have contacted the City to find out what local papers there are, but it seems that even the city doesn't know where to look for local papers. does anyone know where in the OC u would find these notices? I would rather not drive all over Orange County looking in Grocery stores for local papers... Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing back from u.

Or you could buy a list, or call all the storage facilities and find out what papers they list their auctions in, and see if you can get on their email list to find out about them.  Movieman pretty much hit the nail on the head, by using google.

Get in direct contact with the facilities themselves. Many times they'll put you on their email or call list and notify you when they are conducting auctions.

(and FYI - most of the time they self storage businesses will be posting their required notices in obscure (cheap) weekly legal publications). But there is no consistency to this in all reality. It is better to get in contact with the managers of the facilities.

Thanks for the info everyone. I have researched through google with not much luck. The storage facility that I contacted about where they listed, I was given Very general info about when they do there auctions and then the person hung the phone up on me. I have not asked anyone from the auctions. I will talk to my husband and c if he would be willing to do that. And I will just have to keep contacting all the storage facilities around here to c about there mailing list. Thanks for the feedback. Have a great week!

The managers at the facilities *should* be very helpful and informative. It may be an aspect of their business that they do not enjoy, but it is their job.

Most of the managers I have met (and I work with hundreds) are very friendly - they should be to you as well.
