New to Storage Auctions? / Re: What items to look for?
« on: October 24, 2017, 10:41:00 PM »
I personally think that you should play it safe the first few times that you go into an auction until you know the playing field a bit better. Don't spend money on something that you're not sure you would earn money on or you'll end up flushing money down the drain, and fast. Also, don't be too optimistic about how easy it is to sell things once you've bought them. There's a lot of work going into getting things to move that you don't see!

This is why it's so important to pick through items in a place not inside your own home. In the backyard or at the self storage facility itself is a good idea. It helps you get rid of clutter yourself and Lord knows how messy out own homes can get while we're waiting for buyers...

I hope for your sake that all of those were legit and not stolen but selling for parts sounds good since they are all legitimately yours now. Otherwise, you might be able to find a second hand electronics place that might be ok to buy it over, even if they are a few versions behind.

You're being very nice and conscientious I think. It's not your prerogative to shred all this personal information for the business. Honestly, if you can get a hold of this guy, then ask him how he wants you to dispose of it, otherwise, just send them all in to recycle since there are boxes of the stuff. Perhaps ending everything down to a recycling facility might be able to help you out.

As a storage facility owner, I can tell you that everybody has a load of junk in their storage unit and the real finds are still far and in between. But that makes the thrill of the search even more exciting isn't it?

I've really got nothing to say about how this whole incident was handled. It's one thing for it to be safety regulations at the storage facility, but when it comes to racism... I don't think that anybody should have to stand for being treated like that.

Don't we all wish that we had days like this when the turn out at the storage auctions are abysmal and there's only profits to be made! Haha! I bet that a lot of people wish they could be in your shoes!

eBay / Re: eBay automatically opens unpaid item case after 3 days

I think it's actually quite good that these sites are starting to be a little more intuitive. Saves the sellers a lot of trouble and makes the buyers watch their toes when it comes to skimping on a buy!

The changes here are not only affecting you but the rest of us on the system. Sooner or later some guy is going to figure out that that's all they need to do to exploit us.

It's quite scary how ebay is really starting to get too strict about rules like this . But I suppose that they have to do something to maintain a certain level of service to buyers. Maybe your friend can appeal his case?
