Think I scored a nice one yesterday...

answered a CL ad " sell my stuff for me"etc.... when I got there,,, I wasn't too excited... books! dammit i hate books..but some nice other stuff, harley helmets, upscale surround sound systems, lotsa cameras and accesories ( i love these for ebay)... and a telescope ( gonna need help on the value but that's another post)..and other stuff.... turns out the books are RailRoad Collector stuff ,after research in ebays sold in the past 30 days, I believe there's over a grand there, then I get to Automobilia collector books research shows another $800 or so...but the really insane thing is there's 4 Buick Brochures, pristine from late 1930's ,early 40's ... and they're selling between $45 to $65 bucks... overall it looks like about $4500 to $4800 sitting here..my cut is 50%..it'll take me about 40 listings to get it all online  (ebay &CL) and a few weekends at the flea market, but I'm kinda digging the thought of clearing $1400 / $1600 online and another 800 net at the flea... here's a link to 1 of the Buick Brochures >>>> http://www.ebay.com/itm/1940-Buick-Prestige-Brochure-Roadmaster-Century-Special-Super-GM-40-Literature-/251273333688?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a810ecbb8

Why not offer him a grand for the whole lot? He might just take the money in-hand and run.

great minds etc.   ...tried that up front and later while loading ... old guy set on getting his 1/2 ..we'll see how it goes, not that I want online money coming in slowly but if so he may have a changed perspective, "to be continued"

well a week later things have gone great with this stuff I got from the consignment guy from CraigsList... the RailRoad Books I sold to one collector for $700.00...some cameras and accessories have sold for $320 so far but here's one I didn't even realize how good a score it was ... an 8 Track!!! ( I hate 8 tracks more than books,lol..well maybe not so much anymore, hahahaha )...the auction description ......

"NEW in BOX PONTIAC 1972,1973,1974 8-track demo tape GTO,Grand Prix,Firebird.
 So COOOOOOLLL!!!!.
Original,Real Deal,Authentic Plastic Wrapped,Unopened,Unused
After some online research I'm pretty sure that:
This is an early 70's Pontiac 8-track tape cartridge that was used for demonstration of the 8-track tape player in your new Pontiac. This was given to customer if car was equipped with an 8-track. I do not have an 8 track player to test this. A great display item at the car show in your classic GTO,Grand Ville,Bonneville,Trans Am , Firebird,Grand Prix or any other Pontiac.
Though it appears to have been safely & securely stored ,I have no idea if it functions."

 THE RESULT......
....... it hovered in the high $20.00 range until the last few minutes of the auction..... then ...BAM ....
final selling price..... $282.77 .... amazing... and the guy paid like 3 minutes later... crazy, right?
( i can't figure out how to insert an image so below is a link to the auction result)... how the hell are images attached? ( yes,i hit the icon but then i get this >>>    <<<< ,now what???

Your link in reply #3 goes to  an unusal place.  Just post your seller name or the actual word for word title of your item and I'll get a link posted here for you.

Never mind; I found your listings and this is the item number for the Pontiac tape.

261215309910

Any person who wants to see the listing (completed) can go to eBay, do an advanced search for item and paste in the number, then click search again.
