Nice little article on eBay.

Nice little article on eBay.

This was online today, nice little piece on eBay.  Doesn't really say anything that any frequent eBayer didn't already know.

Intersting article, I thought the comments below the article were interesting as well. Someone made a good comment about it now being like a flea market. There's a million sellers selling the same drop ship crap from China.

You go on looking for an MP3 player or something decent and you have to sort through a dozen pages of the same cheap chinese mp3 players being sold by a dozen different sellers.

Ebay used to be much different.

Ebay sucks now. I hate how buyers can take 3 weeks to pay you and you cant leave them feedback. I hate how buyers try to renogotiate prices and or shipping after an auction has ended. I hate paypal. And I hate many of ebays flawed policies.

Also, the article made it sound like ebay is trying to phase out auctions to a point but I've noticed they are having those free auction at any price weeks going on like 2 weeks out of every month lately which leads me to believe people are sick of all the fees and sick of ebay.

Ebay is still making a killing off final value fees and paypal fees they dont need the money from listing fees.

I find that when selling china on eBay the gravy bowls, serving pieces do well. Plates, not so much.
I sold silverware place settings though (nothing terribly special) and did quite well just depends on who is on at the time.

My recommendation to you is that you stop using eBay. But then where will you sell the rights to your website?
And what about those $1 and $6 lists of auctions you sell?

Well, you're half right. I think your selling china on ebay was in one of your other posts.

But when you say eBay sucks, I think my suggestion that you stop selling on eBay makes sense.
As far as my comment about your proposed website sale and auction listing sales goes, I think that also
relates to your comment about eBay "sucks". If it "sucks" why use it at all ?

But I could be wrong...I have been before.

I would say ebay is a necessary evil. I'm careful about what I list, basically if I'm not going to be okay with getting screwed out of my money and my product so nothing over $100 for the most part. I won't list it as anyone who sells a decent amount of stuff on ebay will have this happen to them at some point or another.
