As Barry Says, "I have an STD, a Storage Transmitted Disease."
« on: November 30, 2012, 08:43:17 PM »
I saw a great unit the other day that was just ruined by a rat. Feces everywhere  :o - total biohazard.

Are there any types of units you'll avoid...ones that are just too gross to buy?

Sometimes they'll pop a door open and the smell of cat urine is so strong people jump back from the doorway.  No thanks!  Those lockers usually have a bunch of ruined stuff and you know that any furniture in that locker is more than likely toast!

I bought a unit 10x10 that reeked of mold when they opened the door . I paid $50 for it and threw out cases and cases of brand new merchandise that were ruined , brand new leather jackets that the buttons had rusted right through the coats. The unit stunk to high heaven

I bought an 8X8 at a uhaul for $80 and the rat smell was so overpowering, There was rat crap everywhere . I had to step outside 5 or 6 times while cleaning it out to catch my breath

would i buy a gross unit again ?

hell yes

top one got me over 2 k bottom one got me 1500 , you never know whats there untill your done with everything

Yeah, I agree. When it comes to making money, I don't think there is a unit I wouldn't buy. Except maybe Hazmat.

My wife's the same way...can't even see a roach without freaking out. The only thing that would keep me out of a storage unit would be a poisonous snake.

Mice and roaches themselves don't bother me, it's their crap. Mouse and roach poop on everything, chewed up and infested good items make me want to cry. Bought a locker a couple months ago that should have made a couple thousand on, but by the time we tossed all the ruined clothes, books, furniture etc we barely broke even.

Had a new Broyhill sectional I barely got someone to give me $50 for.  :-[
