Finally a sweet score!

Finally a sweet score!
« on: December 17, 2014, 03:14:23 PM »
Hey Yuuuupers,

I've been buying auctions for a little while now.  Mostly was breaking even and not getting much out of my auctions for the amount of work i was putting in, and the costs of disposal of unwanted items.  But this weekend i finally hit it big.  I picked up a unit off a new online auction site i found, there doesn't seem to be very many bidders there yet, so i got it for only $26!  It was a 10x10 packed full to the brim.  Found two gold chains in a dresser drawer that i flipped for $250 and $175.  Still selling off the rest of the stuff, but it feels really good to finally hit the big one.

Has anyone else found anything cool lately?

this sounds very spammy but there is something about your name that I like so I'll just say congrats on the hit

good job and grats. I just bought 6 units friday for $2300, looks like about 40 hours of work but the payout will be nice. Already sold $500 in furniture $100 in ammo and $100 in household. $1600 to go and havent even listed the good stuff yet :)

Wow! nice one brother!  Is that all from in person auctions? do you find you get better deals that way? i've still to go to a real auction.

AuctionDude, welcome to the forum.

Must be iBid - according to Compete.com they don't get much traffic. Good for you (although they don't have many auctions in the U.S.) but bad for storage operators.

Well that's good hear. iBid is on the naughty list this year, :111: but I won't get into that right now.

No you did not. What he meant was the way you wrote your posted sounded like you were leading up to promoting a website. But since you didn't mention one, or post a link to one then it wasn't really spam, so all is good.

Well, if units are selling that cheap, it's just a matter of time before their clients go elsewhere.

Your point being....?

As a bidder i don't care about this, nor do i see why other bidders should care.  Perhaps because you run a storage auction website you think this is important?  But i sort of doubt that you are correct as well.  Any serious storage operator is already at a loss on a unit, whether they get $50 or $200 they don't really care, all they really care about is getting the unit emptied out quickly, and ready for renting again.
