Dumpster Diving

I found an old dirt bike next to a storage facility dumpster. Loaded it up, put it on Craigslist and 2 hours later I had $80 more in my pocket. 

Has anyone else found dumpster treasure?

I pick up things on the road too.  Returned a tonneu cover to a dealer that blew off a customer's truck on their rollback got a free service on my van   Found by the road for trash pick up a vacuum cleaned the filters sold it to my neighbor for $20   I bought a house from a lady and was hauling off a bag of trash for her.  Heard some metal rattling and thought recycle, but found it was a Dietz Monark lantern made between 1915-1936   It is in my booth at Southern Pickers for $49.95 as of today.  Also found an old STOP sign at that house behind the shrubs cleaned it and it is in my booth at Southern Pickers for $49.95 as of today too   Never be ashamed to make a little profit!

nice come up with teh bike. i dont actively go to dumpsters or cruise neighborhoods looking for junk but if i see something interesting on the side of the road or in a dumpster ill definately grab it and try flip it on craigslist

I don't dumpster dive specifically.  But I do keep my eyes open.

When ever I'm in a certain area I have spots I'll check out.   Car batteries, auto parts......just a few weeks ago I got a porsche 911 fender with a slight dent.  Rubbed it out and sold for $160 (tho I agreed to deliver and cost about $30 in gas so really $130).   Could most likely got more on eBay but shipping those things is. B*tch!!   And ya'll know by now tht I HATE shipping! 

And the universities around the years end is good.
