Protecting your cash at the auctions - Diversion Safes
« on: May 13, 2014, 03:58:24 PM »
I know that most of us are divided on this subject, some like to keep their cash on their person while others prefer to hide it in their car. Well, Charli has been adding products to our store and I noticed that she added a diversion safe in the cash bags category. You know, the containers that look like everyday products like shaving cream or Red Bull cans, but the bottom screws off revealing a hollow inside.

I for one prefer to leave my cash in the car, hidden of course. I think that a diversion safe is a wise investment for people like me who think it's riskier to carry large amounts of cash on their person than to leave it hidden in a vehicle.

Anyone here use a diversion safe? Would you use one, why or why not?

That's the second location. After that, we proceed to the Gerber Drive facility.

Why not just one of those gun safes for the car?  I got one for under $50.  Has a cable that wraps around seat rail.  Cable can be shortened so its dang near impossible to get bolt cutter in there.

I actually took my seat out, bolted it to the floor board and welded it in place (more so the bolts wouldnt loosen, thought it would rattle, than for security)

I don't know about the diversion things in cars.  Think about who breaks into cars the most?  Teens and homeless and drug addicts.   They very well might break in just for a can of red bull or shanking cream.

So now you're forcing them to steal the car along with the safe and cash? :)

I've had three cars stolen.  I'm use to it.

Well, actually......I had one car stole, three times.   But twice I got it back full of gas and once with a ton of brand new clothes that fit me.   Also had my plates stolen four times, my truck broken into and parts stolen off Porsche.....all in two years.

Loved living in the city.

Ahhhhh......okay, now my rant.
Police!  Ahgggg.
So I had my plates stolen.  7 am I had police bust in my house.  Turned out thieves stole my neighbors plates and put them on my car, stole their car. (We had identical cars).
So later that day I'm down in the international district.  Total chance I see my neighbors car, with my plates on it, parked on the side of the road in metered parking. I go track down a cop and tell him what's up.  The stupid mother %#*!? drives over and stands by car while calling in plates.  He calls me over and starts asking me questions.  I just stared at him.  He asked what's wrong?  So I asked him if he is lazy or the biggest f**king idiot in all of law enforcement?  Why didn't you wait for them? You could have caught them red handed for car theft (felony), stolen plates (felony) and there are car stereos and needles in the back!  Solve other crimes? Paraphernalia charge?
He says no way.  They dump cars down here all the time!

Really!  They are car thieves but they put money in the meter?!  What car thief pays for parking when dumping a car?!  And its 15 minute parking!  Wouldn't have to wait long!   Idiots!

Top it off.  I get a parking ticket if my meter runs out by one minute.   These cops leave they car and it sat in fifteen minute parking for THREE days with no plates.....no tickets.  I finally got ahold of my neighbor to go pick it up and they get pulled over on the way home.  Cop never did any paper work on finding the car......

Rant over.
