spicing up the displaying of older merchendise

As a fairly experienced sales person i have noticed ways to get your old items that sit for a while, if at least a higher interest, and a possible sale
To mave out and makeway for new items.

Displaying your items nicely, uniquely, and desireablly is extremely important.
If u are a regular on garage sale, flea market circuit..many of the buyers very well may be too
So u always want to keep new and different stock in rotation, aside from your 'best selling' and 'not selling merchendise' even if they are nick nacks make sure what you put around your items draw attention or serve a purpose. If you can draw them in, u can usually talk them into taking a package deal of the item of interest and the flat stock items.

Show some creativity, make your display appealing to the eye. Walkers by are so overwhelmed with eyes gasms at these types of events, something beautiful will focus attention.

That is what I use my electric glowing buddah and world coins for.  I draw people in to my spot at the flea.  Once in my booth or what not many times they "spot" something else and buy it.  I figure those 2 items bring in a good 30% of my customers.

I recently found a metal frame and glass shelves in a unit.  I used this to display all my little collectibles and figurines instead of putting them in a cluster on the wood table.  Sold a few items that hadn't moved before, including 2 of 3 buddahs that made up a set.  Was missing 1 but the set still sold.

Ya ideally display cases would be the way to go. But even without em theres a plethora of ways to make ur stuff look fresh.

It always amazes me when people don't do basic cleanup of items when selling them. This is readily found at flea markets, garage sales, but i focus mostly on eBay and Craigslist.  A few minutes of polishing, cleaning, wiping can generally add 10-15% to final sale price nearly every time. That is often the difference between making a useful profit or breaking even!

Will agree with that at least a wipe of a rag. Or get the cob webs off.

I have tote full of Purses Going to take all those lovely plastic bags you get from the stores and stuff them inside. Nicer appearance for selling and I get rid of the bags.    Do have knitted bags so I don't get so many of those bags but often forget to take them. 

Got a cheesy particle board china cabinet, one of the front pieces of glass is missing. But have the glass shelves could make it as a display case. Small and light and has a light fixture in it.  Will see

With furniture i usually get a decent price at these second hand furniture spots
