What do you think max bid should be for this unit

I will say it again. There is NO contractual guarantee as to the condition, quality, or type of contents in a storage unit unless you get an itemized inventory in writing from the facility, and that dosen't happen!
This is not necessarily true - depending on the state you live in...  If the advertisement for the auction states that it is for deliquency and the auctioneer states the same (or something to that affect), they have now just represented what they are attempting to sell.  IF you can prove that it was staged or they have gone through the unit you bought, you would have standing in court to claim fraud, false advertising, and breach of contract (most states consider oral contracts as binding).  The same reason your bid is "legally binding" means that their representations are just as legally binding...  An auction, in most states, is nothing more than competing verbal contracts between the auctioneer and the highest bidder.  I can tell you if I ever bid on a unit and found out while paying it was staged; I would not complete the transaction.  If I found out (meaning have proof) after I paid, I would request my money back.  If after 7 days I didn't have my money, I would file in small claims court.

I guarantee that whomever took the pictures for the auction peeked through the box handholds and saw they were empty.

Well found out the boxes were empty! I talked with the manger and he told me the guy was so mad and was throwing the boxes in the hallway screaming and swearing. Thinking the unit was staged! Again bid on what you can see. I almost just said the hell with it and was going to pay 2400.00 I guess its true if something looks to good to be true it most likely is.

Guess I should post my opinion before you bid next time.  ;)

Glad you did not get it. Would be buying more drinks.  ;D

Those old metal lunches boxes can go for hundreds of dollars each, some decent jackets, old planet of the apes figurines, Barbie dolls, that adding machine can be worth a $500 bill if it works, the battleship game, and then there's still all of those closed cardboard boxes. Nice boxes like that usually mean people cared about the stuff inside. That part is a gamble, but what isn't in this business!

To me paying 2300 on that ur making a 1500$ gamble on boxes.

Yep, looks staged to me too. Just TOO neat and organized with some goodies showing. Why aren't THEY in
neatly stacked boxes too ?

Yep! Check out the other current auctions, all the TVs are neatly situated on tables, everything is displayed for view. The over-all orientation of the items is towards the door-- how convenient!
