Worth $80 ya think?

So do you think it was worth $80 or no?  Put it all in my truck and started to work on an inventory.  Post results later.

At first glance no, the golf bag looks nice though.

Kind of hard to tell with the small picture. But from what I can tell, I see it bringing maybe $100. So no, I would not have bid this unit past $50. But then again, like I said, this is a small picture.

Seems to have a few things of fishing gear. So when you are going through it all, see if you can fidn any vintage or antique lures. Kind of doubt you will find any, since it seems like most of the stuff is from the 90's and up, but always worth looking for.

It depends, If I wanted the golf clubs for myself I would maybe bid $80 on this unit. Bidding on this unit to resell, I would'nt bid more then $25. I don't think you overpayed though because to be quite honest that unit would probably go for $50 to $90 to the highest bidder in my area right now.

I see $15-$25 in tackle boxes & cooler, $20-$25 golf club & bag (unless very recent and great brand name), is that a big flashlight? $3, $3 suitcase, some clothes? $3.

Cost Of Goods = $80
Fuel = $15 (average distance)
Flea Market Table Rental = $7
TOTAL COST = $102

Grand total at flea market = $44 - $59
Hidden items of worth ?

Profit/Loss on unit $102-$44 or $102-$59 = $(43-$58) loss

Need $58 worth of hidden items just to break even, and thats working for free! (no pay for your time and labor)

I hope everyone reading this forum is seeing how rediculous the TV shows have made the bidding on these units.

Yeah, but with golf clubs, I'm willing to bet that even before the show someone would taken a chance on the clubs.  Clubs are really finicky as obviously a whole bag can be worth $25 or $500 depending on the maker and condition.

Still not as bad as paying $500 for a 5x10 full of boxes.  Boxes are well they are the devil's work with auctions.

Lol - acman.... for me it's trunks even more then boxes.  I stopped myself yesterday at $150 on a 5x10 that had some older furniture that would of needed work and boxes / trash bags to the very top.  Saw way too many cloths in the bags to risk it that day.  Opened at $100 and almost had it.

Now for the unit -- it should pay for itself and then some.  I'm in a big golf / fish / rec area with everything except snow.  With that many people drive the 2 hours or so to the ski resorts.  So here is what I pulled from the unit:

Golf bag (dunlop) with tees, spot markers, and 28 used balls.
Found the following clubs/irons in the bag and behind it that couldn't be seen.  Keep in mind I know zip about golf equipment so I'm learning.

Titleist Driver
Titleist 4 wood, 3 wood
Wilson Staff - 1 wood
Wilson Metal 3 wood, 5 wood
Wilson 5 wood
M.X.D. 2 wood (Maximum Distance - 13 Loft - 17-4 PH)
Toney Penna Original 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 iron
Star Flite (Bob Rosburg) 7 iron
Controller Driving Iron
Executive Spalding - pitch wedge
Truex M88 - putter
Green Killer V (Allied) -- putter
Performance Light -- 5 iron
Dynatour 1 wood (Titanium)
Power Bilt (Grand Slam) - 9 iron
Performance Light (Fairway Flyer) - 5 wood

U.S. Kids Klubs - wedge & putter

Delta Turkey Flock -- new in box (retail for $50 - $65)
ZeroXposure Jacket (Activewear, authentic element protector - Size M)
Primos wood duck call - Model # 807
iHome2go - like new
6 different reels
2 rods, 1 with another reel
A "Fishing Machine" by Sicroix -- this is an expandable fishing rod.  Looks pretty cool.  When first saw the shape of the leather case it looked like a pistol case.  Got very excited for a min there.
3 hardside tackle boxes and 1 soft side
15,000,000 candle spot light -- this sucker is huge but bright.  I'm so going to take it to an auction :)
2 ski bibs - one man and one woman (woman one is new w/ $50 tag still on it)
Various hats - one is a John Deer hat with 2 Bass Pro autographs on it

I have not inventoried all the fishing lures, anchors, etc. yet.  Some of them are brand new still in packs and such.

From the pic, it looked like there were maybe 6 clubs in the bag. Glad to know that you got a good number of them + balls & misc.

Based on your inventory, I think you'll do fine on that $80 win.

Don't know anything about golf clubs either. But like I said earlier think you will be fine. Fishing stuff brings people in we had 4 odd cheap fishing poles at our yard sale sold them for $5.00 a piece. Sold them all even one that was garbage for $1.00. 20 people looked at the old tackle box no takers but lookers. Had a metal detector on the table. It was worth not selling it brought so many people to look and they bought other stuff.
But we did sell it. Good luck

I would have bid 80 on this unit. Played golf for many years, my father coaches it, and that bag looks nice. Those pro style bags aren't cheap. The clubs depend on age, but put the best full set you can together with the bag and supplies and I would think you could get 80 or more easy. New golf equipment is so expensive, sell it as a beginners set without the big upfront cost. Go to a couple pro shops and see if they have a place to advertise selling used clubs, most will.

Golf clubs in my area are very iffy. Which to me is funny since my city is a Air Force Retirement base. Also boot camp for the Air Force. Even with that it seems people in my area are not spending much of golf clubs. It is so bad that after holding on to 2 sets of clubs for 2 and a half months I decided to cut my losses and take it to a pawn shop. Hell pawn shops in my area wont deal with golf clubs. And the few that usually would deal with them, told me they have alot on stock and have a hard time getting rid of them. I did finally sell all my clubs and three bags. Bags and clubs as sets, took a long while though. Ended up donating the last golf club bag. A real nice leather one.

BigBizz - I gamble $100 on units all the time.  As I tell my mother she travels to the casino to gamble, I do mine in town.  Trunks / safes are my weaknest.  I know 98% of the time they have papers or empty....but I love to win lockers with them.  Put a token bid at a silent auction of $26 on a trashed looking unit due to the 2 trunks just inside the door.  Even one the unit which surprised the hell out of me.
